"I’ve always been intrigued by different forms of working out and over all fitness, but I was always at a loss for how to step into it myself. I grew up doing extracurricular activities that kept me active without thinking about it so when I f...inally did have to think about setting aside time to specifically work out, the concept was bizarre to me. My pattern then became signing up for some run of the mill exercise classes or even just at a regular you’re-on-your own type of gym, only to slowly distance myself as I got bored or lost motivation due to my lack of progress because I really had no idea what I was doing. Having just distanced from my most recent exercise endeavor, I was looking for something new and different. That’s when I stumbled upon The Training Spot. I walked in expecting to be intimidated and feel out of place, but I was immediately surprised by the calm and genuine energy everyone had. This was the main factor that led to me signing up. No one cares what you can and can’t do. No one is judging you or laughing at you. (Unless you’re me and you laugh at yourself most of the time.) In June of 2018 I found myself in Hoag Hospital CICU, my resting heart rate was off the charts and my heart was functioning at about 40%...I was in "heart failure". My weight was creeping up to over 230 lbs (a good portion... of it was fluid that was collecting in my legs and abdomen). Turns out I have AFib. Following several days in the hospital, non-stop of you know what to get rid of all the fluid buildup and finally an Electrical Cardioversion to get my heart back to normal rhythm...I was on my way to recovery. However, I knew that it was time to get to work on some better habits. The T-Spot and Matt Montague have been a perfect answer to what I needed with respect to getting into better shape. I truly appreciate the effort Matt has put into my program and progress. The T-Spot staff and the clients they serve are such special people. You feel welcomed and encouraged the moment you walk in. Take a look at his Instagram for awesome content! 4 Rounds of: 25 Squats 20 Elbow to knee planks... 15 Alternating back lunges per leg 10 Push-ups 5 Burpees This is a body weight workout so you don’t need any equipment to complete. Had some friends say they couldn’t do the last workout because they didn’t have the equipment needed no more excuses here! Push yourself and get your heart rate up. I encourage all to try. You can do this workout at any fitness level. Take your time and feel free to modify. Send me a DM and I will send modifications for you. If you want to shoot for time feel free and go as fast as you can. I completed in 7:57. Let’s spread health and fitness throughout our communities.
