Great Openwater class this weekend,

Mitch and his crew had their hands full with ruff conditions today, for tomorrow.

Beautiful Northern Coast Free Fun Dives with Ian Zucker Starting this month, less than a week from now in fact on the 27th, Pinnacles Dive Center is going to start hosting monthly fun dives on the North Coast once a month (mostly North of Jenner, South of Mendocino). I’ve been tasked with making this all happen and I am very exited to do so. Our goal is to create a community for divers of all levels to explore new sites, expand their skills, make friends, and of course dive!... For now we’re going to be doing fun dives on a Sunday once a month at a site or sites of my choosing, eventually we may make camping weekends out of it if enough people are interested. Van Damme State Park for example has excellent and interesting diving and a very convenient campground just across Highway 1 from the beach. To attend all one must do is register and sign up on our website, or give us a call. As we start these once a month weekend adventures there will be a bit of teething and finding our footing in terms of organization and how the group dynamic goes, it will be a bit of a learning experience for all involved. The North Coast is a bit more wild than Monterey Bay as the North Coast is not sheltered in from the grand old Pacific Ocean the way the bay is. In the modern era of the internet and instant communications there is still a small possibility that we arrive at our destination and find conditions unfavorable for diving. If this is the case we’ll hang out, eat drink and be merry, that sort of thing. In the unlikely even of this happening any gear rental from Pinnacles will turn into a credit to rent the same gear in the future. Bearing all of this in mind our first foray into the great wild north shall take us to Either Timber Cove or Ocean Cove. We’ll meet at one, and make a decision from there, the two coves are about a 10 minuet drive apart from each other. I’ll be sending out another email to all who are signed up finalizing our logistical plans for the day. I hope to see a great many of you there, have an excellent weekend even if you are not diving, though it is hard to imagine it could possibly as excellent as the weekend of those who are diving! -Ian P.S.
