GOOD NIGHT FAMILY TBC The day we choose to worship God is not of life-or-death importance. There are some Christians who believe the official day of worship should be Sunday, while other Christians believe it should be Saturday. What matters to God the most is that we come together as believers to worship Him, regardless of the day. We must also remember that our worship and communing with God should be on a daily basis, not just on one day. PRAYER ... Dear God, I thank you that to You, what matters more is that we worship You and not the day. Lord, I pray that things like "days and time will not cause rifts between believers in the body of Christ. May we all be focused on worshipping You in Spirit and in truth, all the days of our lives, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

GOOD MORNING FAMILY TBC You can’t tell some people anything. They are obstinate and contrary and determined to do the opposite of what they are told. You will see this with little children who push the boundaries of their parents’ commands. Teens are notorious for rebelling against their parents’ rules simply to be rebellious. In this passage, Jeremiah tells of the same kind of person--a person who is told the right and good way to go, and deliberately chooses the opposite p...ath. The good path promises rest, while the other obviously promises destruction. This scripture and the subsequent verses illustrate what happens when we refuse to heed the warnings of God. When we fail to walk in the right path, when we fail to listen...well, the truth is we simply fail and the price, according to verse 20, is "disaster." PRAYER Father, help me to walk in Your ways and listen to Your words. Don’t let my naturally stubborn nature cause me to rebel against You. Amen.

GOOD NIGHT FAMILY TBC We should wear our faith in Christ on our chests for the world to see. We have no reason to be ashamed of the fact that we have decided to follow Jesus. As Christians, we have realized that there is no other way than the way of Christ. There is no other name more powerful than the name of Jesus. The gospel of Christ comes full of power because it testifies to the victory of Jesus Christ that He won for all mankind. PRAYER ... Dear God, I can state, boldly, that I am fully convicted by Your word and I am totally proud of being identified as a Christian. I am not ashamed of the world knowing that I follow You wholeheartedly. To the world, it may be foolishness, but I know that this is the only life to live. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

GOOD MORNING FAMILY TBC When we "lean" on our own understanding, we fall prey to the sin of arrogance. Humans tend to be "human" centered. We think we know best, in all things. Over and over again, we are exhorted in Scripture to "trust in God." He is faithful to direct our path. Our best bet is to let God be the one to tell us what to do. Our own understanding just doesn’t cut it. We have to step out of our own way and let God do the leading. Anything else is foolish pride.... PRAYER Father, help me to let you lead me. Help me to not depend on my own understanding but to acknowledge You in all my ways so that You can direct my path. Amen.

GOOD MORNING FAMILY TBC Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Everyone knows that blood is thicker than water." Those we are bound to by blood, no matter how at odds we may be with them from time to time, are permanently tied to us. Those related to us by blood ties receive our loyal...ty. Just ask any brother and sister. No matter how much they may scrap and fight amongst themselves, they will protect each other from outside threats at all costs. We may say all kinds of things about our family, but let someone outside that circle speak against them and our wrath is unleashed. The blood that Christ shed for us has bound us to Him in an inextricable way. He has grafted us into His family and now we are under the protection He affords His family. Considering that, even when we were lost in our unrighteousness, Christ loved us and gave His life for us. He reconciled us to His Father and made us a permanent part of the family. And He did this even while we were enemies" of God. How much more is in store for us now that we have come to know and love the Lord? How much more joy will we know now that we are reconciled with Him? Because of the blood sacrifice Christ made on Calvary, the best is yet to come for us. PRAYER Lord, I can never thank you enough for the blood You shed for me. Your sacrifice made me a part of Your family and brought with it all of the rewards of belonging to the family of God. You did for me what I could never have done for myself: You reconciled me with the Father. You gave me, by Your sacrifice, a way to commune with God--something that would have lost to me forever. Thank you for loving me, even when I was at my most sinful. Help me to never take Your sacrifice for granted. Amen.

GOOD NIGHT FAMILY TBC God has determined which spiritual gifts to give to which believers in his Church. He so arranged this as it seemed good and pleasing in his sight. He did not merely give an opportunity to have any spiritual gift one might want to each person, but he himself chose how to distribute them, for the good of the Body of Christ as a whole. PRAYER ... Let me not envy the spiritual gift of another member of your Body, Lord. How comical and foolish for the foot to envy the hand, the eye or the nose! How foolish for one part of the body to say it has no need of another part! I thank you, Lord, that You gave the Church the gifts it needs to grow and live for You, and I thank You for the spiritual gifts of others that I have benefited from.

GOOD MORNING FAMILY TBC Another story about a baby being left in a hot car on a summer day. How many children have to die before we get enough sense to stop leaving babies in hot cars! Common sense doesn’t seem to be that common today. People suing fast food restaurants for serving hot coffee. Warning labels on hair dryers warning us not to submerge them in water. Warnings on knife packages that the blade is sharp. Common sense has taken a backseat to idiotic behavior. Clear... thinking has left the building. We learn from this Proverb that wisdom and discretion are what is needed most in the world. These things bring life" and grace." If we but practice clear thinking, our lives will benefit. We need to focus on doing things that make sense. To think before we speak, before we act. We need to make common sense common again. PRAYER Father, Help me to maintain clear thoughts and to practice common sense. Let me not go the way of foolish, nonsensical people, but give me wisdom and discretion so that my life may be fuller, richer, and better. Amen.

GOOD NIGHT FAMILY TBC The Jews of old were much impressed with the Temple, and no wonder, for it was a marvelous building to behold, bedecked with gold and constructed with precious materials of all sort. But far greater than the Temple is Jesus Christ, to whom that Temple pointed, being a shadow of him and his sacrifice to be made for sin. PRAYER ... I read of the Tabernacle, the Temple, and so many of the institutions of the Old Testament, and they are impressive even in themselves. But they are nothing compared to your Son, O my Father! He is the substance and reality of all of these former things. They were but faint shadows and signposts pointing to the One who was to come. May I see your Son when I read of these things in your Word.
