I see some new people here so I wanted to take a quick moment and introduce myself. My name is Natalie Langan and this is my Dog Loki. I am the proud owner of @TrailHeadHounds and he’s my lead dog. Random fact about me, when I was a child my favorite activity was dressing up in my Dalmatian Halloween costume and following our childhood dog around the yard on all fours. Any time an adult asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always told them something with animals. M...y passion for dogs runs deep. Loki is my dream dog, he’s loyal, balanced, smart, and so much fun to work with. He’s #rawfed and isn’t big on snuggling What is one random fact about you or your dog!? Comment below!

Happy Howl-O-Ween!!! We just wrapped up our puppy kindergarten classes with @adventuredogla and to celebrate we went out to @true_food_kitchen with the pups. As fun as our time at the restaurant was, it actually served a huge purpose and wrapped up all that we had worked on During our socialization and exposure classes. Not every puppy would be able to sit calmly and happily with their owner while out to a brand new place. I’m so proud of all of their owners for working so h...ard. Thank you @true_food_kitchen for being so accommodating and thank you @adventuredogla for truly making this an amazing experience for all! And an extra special thanks for @thesocialabbott for allowing us to use her yard for the classes #happyhowloween #howloween #puppyclass #puppyclassgraduates #puppiesofinstagram #dogtraining See more

Patience, persistence, and practice. To take cute photos like this with the dogs all in a line isn’t magic. I didn’t randomly ask them to sit out of the blue to see them magically line up in a nice line. It takes patience, persistence, and practice! Just like most things in life. Did some of dogs get up and walk away several times? Yes. Did I lead them back in line over and over till they relaxed in their spot? Yes. If you’re working with your dog on anything remember it t...akes time to learn a new behavior. But if you have patience, stay persistent, and practice often, your will reach your goals! #patience #persistence #practice #pupsofinstagram #happydogs #packwalknation #packhikes #doghikes #trailheadhounds #trailheadhoundstraining See more

Mud-wallows are used by a variety of animals for a number of reasons. The animals which wallow are generally those which have sparse hair and few sweat glands on their bodies, species such as Cape buffalo, black & white rhino, warthogs, elephants and English Cream Retrievers. These animals often stir up the mud with their feet, horns, snouts, or paws before getting down for a roll. Wallowing acts as a cooling method. Warthog and buffalo spend time lying in mud-wallows to red...uce their body temperature. While the English cream retriever enjoys a wallow for a time, they often gain a burst of energy after their wallow, exhibiting a prancing and tail wagging behavior. It’s important for humans to stay clear of the Cream Retriever once they have exited the mud wallow, they often like to rub their mud covered bodies on whomever might be nearest. #nationalgeographic #nature #wildlife #mudwallow #muddog

Getting back to hiking this week has been so much fun. I’ve missed the pack! It’s amazing how taking a break effects the dogs. Just one week of no hikes sets their training back a bit. But with a little time and effort they will be be back into their usually rhythm. I love that is shows me how much they rely on their pack walks and how much of a positive effect it has on them #dogshikes #packwalks #nobaddogs #train #hike #move
