I'm happy to announce that Sportfishing has been designated as an approved sector for reopening in San Diego. It has been a long journey, and would not have bee...n possible without the full support of our fleet, the guidance of the Sportfishing Association of California, San Diego Port Tenants Association, San Diego Port District, our County Supervisors and like businesses who worked tirelessly to get us across the finish line. In the coming days, our fleet's protocols will be reviewed for compliance and we should be offshore doing what we do best. I cannot say enough about the leadership displayed by SAC President Ken Franke throughout this entire crisis. He has demonstrated the utmost in decorum, professionalism and diplomacy. He held fast when things were breaking down, and rebuilt the road map necessary for us to be where we are today. Ken, thank you! The H&M staff and fleet have been proactive in providing the very model of compliance with guidelines. They spent endless hours and dollars in outfitting vessels and landing with sanitization gear, signage training. I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished. Thank you all for staying the course. It's go time, and we're ready!

May 30, 2020 Status of Reopening: This Tuesday, June 2nd, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors are meeting to vote on a motion being presented to reopen ou...r fleet. This has been a long journey for us all, and we are ready to go as soon as the County grants us access. Our Sanitization and Distancing Protocols have been vetted and are the very framework being used successfully in other regions throughout the State allowing other landings to reopen. We appreciate your patience and are looking forward to a positive outcome on Tuesday.
