I know about addiction far too well for it has impacted my life and that of my family and friends. My biggest pet peeve is when people say "you had a perfect li...fe, how could you mess it up like this over alcohol or drugs" or "if you want help you should just ask" or "We've already been down this road before and that it didn't work last time..." addiction literally consumes your soul and it's all you can think about! No one wakes up one day and says I want to be an alcoholic,or addicted to heroin, cocaine, opiates,or meth for the rest of my life... So today more than ever, I pray for the healing of addiction for all that are still struggling. Think of someone you love who has had an addiction or who is trying to fight this evil whether winning or losing and pray for them. See more

a new light had entered the dark world of the alcoholic. BB Foreword to Second Edition, p.xvii the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for t...hose who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined. Matthew 4:16 We all need the light of God's reality, the nourishment of His strength, and the atmosphere of His grace. 12 X 12 P.97 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. John 3:20 To watch the eyes of men and women open with wonder as they move from darkness into light, to see their lives quickly fill with new purpose and meaning, to see whole families reassembled, to see the alcoholic outcast received back into his community in full citizenship, and above all to watch these people awaken to the presence of a loving God in their lives- 12 x 12 p.110 You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. Psalm 18:28

The Declaration of Independence refers to God as God, Supreme Judge, Divine Providence, and Creator of men. The signers and representatives of the people in the... colonies (and the people) depended on God and because of that dependence came the independence of our nation. Dependence on God = Freedom. Nothing is impossible with God not even starting a new country. See more

Forgive others. Set them and yourself free. Don't have to like 'em. Don't have to have a relationship with 'em. Just gotta love 'em. Matthew 6:14-15 For if you... forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came up and said to him, Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times? Jesus said to him, I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven." 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
