I had a LOT of help making this cutting board, and it came out gorgeous! We used the end pieces of white oak, which when glued together is stronger than just a flat board. When washing, we wet both sides to keep the board from warping and dry immediately. . As with anything handmade, whether it’s the food you order at a restaurant or the scarf that your mom knitted, it’s illuminating to see how much work and skill goes into making beautiful things. We are making gazpacho today, a refreshing soup originating in Spain. Now is the time to make this, while it’s hot out, and all the ingredients are still in season. Recipe (ish) ... 2 cups tomatoes 1 large cucumber 1 red pepper 1 handful basil 2 cloves garlic 1 T balsamic vinegar 1 T extra virgin olive oil Sea salt to taste Water to thin in case . Making pesto is a simple process that can add variety to any meal. Plus it’s mix and match! Here’s a recipe from my book, The Nourished Belly Diet. 2 c leafy herb 3/4 c extra virgin olive oil 2/3 c nuts ... 2-3 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp sea salt Juice of one lemon Combine everything and blend!
