Hi to all followers/music lovers here The Living Tradition...thank you for having me at your first online concert all the way from the east coast of Canada last night (June 20)...so lovely to share songs and stories with Art Podell's Music, and Tracy Newman II and all of you who tuned in. Couldn’t ask for finer company. Special thanks to Ron Bloom and Carol Bloom for hosting and supporting music through this wonderful organization. Here’s a classic for ya for all the dads on Father’s Day. much love, Leona Burkey

The Living Tradition 06.10.2020

Hi Music Fans- Due to the ongoing pandemic, The Living Tradition concerts at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center have been temporarily suspended. Concerts scheduled for May 16th, 2020 and June 20, 2020 have been cancelled and are being rescheduled. It is still too early to estimate when and how our community center shows will resume. It is said, "Out of adversity springs opportunity." The present situation will, inevitably, change how some things will be done in our society... in the future. Rather than resist change, I propose we would all be much happier by embracing its opportunities. The Living Tradition concert series is exploring new ways to bring quality music to our community. As an experimental first step, we will be presenting The MacMammals via live Facebook video at 7:30 PM on Saturday, May 16th, 2020. Admission is free and the presentation can be viewed on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheLivingTradition/ An interesting feature in Facebook is the ability to have an interactive experience. Listeners may send real time text comments to the artists, as well as the artists being able to respond and answer questions. We recommend listening through a good stereo system or quality speaker arrangement on your computer. The mini speakers in notebook computers or cell phones generally do not provide concert quality sound. A good set of headphones would also be of benefit. The MacMammals feature the crystalline vocals of Carol Schryver-Bloom. They are noted for songs from Ireland, The British Isles, and North America. Their newly released CD, "Kernevin," can be sampled and purchased via the link at www.themacmammals.com. If this presentation is successful, we will consider adding future shows, as well as utilizing platforms other than Facebook. Your feedback about the experience is encouraged! The future is bright. Stay safe. We hope to see you on line Saturday night! Best regards, Ron Bloom

Hi Music Fans- In view of the current events, the concert featuring The Susie Glaze New Folk Ensemble scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center has been cancelled. I have rescheduled the band for Saturday, October 17, 2020. At this time, we shall presume that there will be no concert on May 16th. Should circumstances change for the better by that time, we might reconsider, but right now this appears unlikely.... Our next scheduled concert is on June 20,2020, when we will present Marley's Ghost. Meanwhile, avoid large gatherings, maintain social distance,....and wash your hands a lot. Regards, Ron Bloom Concert Coordinator

The Living Tradition 20.09.2020

Hi Music Fans- I come to you today with a heavy heart. It gives me no pleasure to report that The Living Tradition concert scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2020 featuring Steve Gillette, Cindy Mangsen, and The MacMammals is cancelled. Rest assured, that prior to making this decision, our volunteers, board members, artists, and several of our audience were consulted, and no alternative has escaped our consideration. We were hoping to proceed with prudent precautions and acc...ommodations. Although the risk of contracting anything more than a common cold from attending a concert is minimal, in view of seriousness of the growing epidemic, I believe the wise and prudent course of action would be to cancel this month’s show. I know we were all looking forward this it and this is a most disappointing outcome. At this time we look forward with joyful anticipation toward presenting The Susie Glaze New Folk Ensemble on Saturday, April 18, 2020, TIEG on Saturday, May 16, 2020, Marley’s Ghost on Saturday, June 20, 2020, Freebo & Alice Howe on July 18, 2020, The Ploughboys on August 15, 2020, and Men of Worth and The MacMammals on November 21, 2020. The future looks bright. Thank you all for helping to keep music in our lives by continuing to support The Living Tradition Concert Series. Best regards, Ron Bloom Concert Coordinator
