Quick questions for everyone who has ever stayed at The Little Pumpkin Guest House (or any other rental, I suppose): Do you care how many television channels are available? If your favorite cable channel weren't available would you be upset or give a lower rating to your host? I'd love to hear opinions on both sides. Thanks!

The following is the note I've shared with guests who are due to arrive during the latest lockdown, but it applies to all future guests beyond that as well. Stay safe! By now you may have heard about the new stay-at-home orders for much of California, which went into affect today. I am writing to give you some updates and assure you that there are no changes to your reservation and that you will still have a wonderful time while you are here. First off, there is no ban on... short term vacation rentals. We will honor all of our reservations and you will be fully welcome here. We follow a very strict Covid-19 cleaning protocol and all high touch surfaces are thoroughly sanitized. What to expect with these new changes? While the governor is urging people to stay in, the main idea is to keep people from congregating and spreading the virus. Restaurants will remain open for takeout and delivery only. We have numerous restaurants within walking distance and will also provide a list of our recommendations. What remains open? Grocery stores and retail stores remain open. Thankfully we have been assured that the beaches will continue to remain open along with boardwalks, parks and hiking trails for exercise, recreation, and our general sanity. Our beaches are wide open and uncrowded with plenty of room to social distance. We can supply you with local hiking recommendations as well. We hope to reassure you that San Diego will remain a relaxing and beautiful getaway. Short term vacation rentals are much safer than hotels. Once checked in you do not need to have contact with anyone else during your stay. We offer high speed cable wifi for remote working. What better place to stay in and quarantine than a private home all to yourself? This really is the best way to get away. Consider it your home away from home!
