The Cambridge Affect

There are times in life when we all find ourselves staring into darkness, where shadows disappear. And, even if we're surrounded and held by friends and family and strangers, this place can feel so lonely as we struggle to find a hope in the middle of our fear and as we desperately try to calm our restless soul in the face of the storm that is drawing close. And then the waves come. But, even when the weight of the world seems so impossible to bear, we can all be there ...for each other. We don’t ever have to walk alone. And, today we have an opportunity to be there for this family....either financially or holding them up in prayer or good thoughts. We cannot lose our faith in humanity. We cannot become jaded by the traumatic events that surround us or that directly impact us. Today I am so thankful for those brave people in my life that show me how to take and turn those feelings of fear into actions of love. For those that are able to find meaning through tragedies, and still find laughter and still experience moments of joy and find their new path and make a way through their new normal.....even if that new normal i...s only temporary. It's when I don't feel brave and am at my most vulnerable that I can look up and see so much strength around me. I am so grateful for the brave. We do not have to be conquering the world or a be leader on a giant stage to be brave. Sometimes being brave is simply waking up and choosing to love one person well.
