Be careful not to constrict your definition for success. Have you ever heard the expression, "You only get one chance to make a first impression." For years this phrase has been used to stress the importance of bringing your best to the table. However, it's a scare tactic and one that presents a win or lose scenario. When it comes to making impressions, one time will not make or break you. Yes, the first impression is important but with every second that goes by, you have a s...econd chance to make a first impression. With every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, and year, you can write yourself a definition for success that has so many more opportunities than only having one shot. Face it. We live in a "what have you done for me lately" society. If for some reason you blow your first impression, realize and focus on the the next 99 opportunities that you have to hit the ball out of the park. - Chris Mott - www.mottivation.com See more

I just got an instant message and in the message the individual dared to tell me that he was working 11 hours a day due to a promotion. Wait! You just emailed a balance coach and told them you were working 11 hours a day and now you expect the Mottivation flood gates not to open??? I don't think so. Here is what was said. "When you are promoted they do so because you are smarter than the average bear. Therefore you are expected to work smarter than harder or longer. When you ...go above the 8 hour normal work day you start to rob time from some other aspect of your life. Therefore rather than getting that strong individual that they promoted, they end up with a weakened team member working longer at half the capacity. Think about it. If you are your strongest, you can accomplish twice the productivity in an 8 hour period that a normal unbalanced individual can. That in Mott Math is 16 hours of productivity. If you then weaken yourself to half capacity due to an unbalanced lifestyle and work 11 hours, that Mott Math works out to be 5.5 hours of productivity. You do the math. Which is more productive and ultimately smarter. - Chris Mott - www.mottivation.com See more
