Is online dog training at TCDTC something you would consider? Here is a short survey on this idea - https://forms.gle/WLfs8SfoKwC8o82R8 We would love to hear your thoughts on this!
Props are one of the most effective tools we have at our disposal to convey positions (left side, right side, front, back, etc.) to our dogs. We are always eager and diligent about getting our dogs to use these, but often lose steam when it comes to fading these props out effectively. The clip below is a beautiful demonstration of using props and also how you begin fading out props. Pay attention to how she starts with the prop, then challenges her dog (without the prop) r...einforces accordingly and immediately works on bolstering the dog's confidence by re-introducing the prop again. Have you used props in your training? Show us what you are working on and talk to us about fading your props! #TCDTCQuarantrain P.S : You can learn how to use props for positions in our *Advanced* class (and all classes following it)
Our training director Bea Moore has been posting some wonderful *free* tips/courses for advanced dogs training for competition (Obedience and Rally) on her personal page. Do check it out! #TCDTCQuarantrain
Staying at home can be a fantastic opportunity to train your dogs in the most effective way - i.e. frequent, short sessions. We would love to put out some ideas/games for you to try with your dogs. What are you working on with your dogs? Leave your answer (text, pictures, videos) in comments below and let us find to something to work on together! #TCDTCQuarantrain
You all probably expected this - We have cancelled classes for the month of April :( An email with more details is on its way to all enrolled students. Stay home and stay safe everyone!
While we are all at home with our doggos.... (written by Sara Reusche)
