These four Stanbridge University students hosted a GoFundMe campaign and raised money to purchase supplies to make 50 care packages for our clients. Each care package contains a mask, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, playing cards, hygiene items, snacks, and a handwritten note. On October 29, Illumination Foundation hosted a kick-off ceremony in Santa Ana for a new shelter on Carnegie Ave set to open in early 2021. The city of Santa Ana is prepared to fund this 200 bed navigation and recuperative care center for Santa Ana’s most vulnerable population. Councilwoman Nelida Mendoza said, the center is just what we needed, as Santa Ana has the largest population of homeless in Orange County, estimated at more than 1,700 people.
