--- October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month which recognizes families and individuals who have lost a child to stillbirth, miscarriage, SIDS, or any other cause at any point during pregnancy or infancy. Unfortunately, the grief associated with the loss of a child is rarely acknowledged. Wolomi hopes to break the silence surrounding pregnancy and infant losses, provide meaningful resources and support. Here are some upcoming events to look forward to. OCT 2: #W...olomiSpeaksLive w/ @sistersinloss - Erica M. McAfee. IG LIVE @EricaMMcAfee is the founder, doula educator, and podcast host of Sisters in Loss, a community for black women and women of color, and our allies to replace silence with storytelling around Pregnancy and Infant Loss and Infertility. OCT 5: Sex Before & After Baby with Sex Therapist - Colby Agostinelli. IN-APP CHAT As a Relationship and Sex Therapist, @colby_mft sees individuals and couples for a variety of issues such as communication, loss of intimacy, mismatched sex drive, infidelity, kink & BDSM, non-monogamy, and more. OCT 9: Chat w/ A Midwife - Linda Sloan Locke. IG LIVE A midwife for over forty years, Linda has a career-long commitment not only to midwifery and women’s health but also health disparities and the intersection of health and mental health. OCT 10: Wolomi Pregnancy Circle. Zoom Join Wolomi and other expecting moms of color as we connect monthly to learn and share our experiences with each other. Moderated by Wolomi founder & registered nurse, Layo George. This month we will be discussing postpartum and all things life after pregnancy. OCT 11: Chat w/ A Black OB. IN-APP CHAT You've got questions, and we've got answers. Our OB will answer your burning questions as you plan for pregnancy or are pregnant. The chat is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for a relationship and consultation with your OB or Midwife. #Repost @_wolomi

#Repost @voices4birthjustice COVID-19 has impacted many exciting milestones for expecting parents such as baby showers, gender reveal parties and childbirth... classes. . In order to support Black, Latin/x, Indigenous and Pacific Islander parents and families to prepare for low-intervention births during these hard times, the California Preterm Birth Initiative and @Sisterwebdoulas are joining together to host a free childbirth education class for communities of color . Led by Sisterweb Doulas, the class will especially focus on educating partners and family members to step in as a birthing support person since COVID hospital restrictions limit the number of people in the birthing room. . This will be an interactive class that will help participants feel more confident through the birth of their child. # [Link in bio] See more
