The #hbtaste may be cancelled but we continue to support our local restaurants! The coronavirus poses a significant threat to the restaurant industry and its 15 million employees. A coalition of restaurants is asking Americans to participate in The Great American Takeout on Tuesday, March 24. THAT’S TODAY! During The #GreatAmericanTakeout, people are encouraged to order at least one delivery or pick-up meal to show support for the struggling restaurant community.... Comment with a restaurant you know is open and offering takeout and delivery in HB and surrounding areas. #huntingtonbeach #surfcityusa

On behalf of the Friends of the Children’s Library, we are very sad to announce that the Taste of Huntington Beach scheduled for Sunday, April 26th has been canceled. We suspect this news does not come as a surprise, but you can imagine what a heartbreak it is, for both our working volunteers and enthusiastic customers! Many popular customer-favorites were already lined up for the TASTE, including dozens of delicious food and beverage booths and music by the Ramsey Brother...s Band plus, exciting new additions a second band, RemiX, and Chef @andrewgruel from Slapfish as our celebrity guest chef. But after much consideration, the Friends of the Children’s Library agreed it would be best to cancel for 2020 rather than postpone for a possible later date in this year. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation instead of asking for a full refund of your ticket. Every little bit will help mitigate the losses incurred by the charity as a result of this cancelation. (Tax ID #27-1284763) Simply email [email protected] advising the amount of your donation on or before March 31st and we will deduct that amount from your refund. If we do not hear from you, we will understand you are requesting a full refund. We will begin processing these on April 1st. As this is a canceled event, Eventbrite will refund all the fees incurred with the ticket purchase. If you purchased tickets from the library, we will mail your refund. Please make sure to email us your mailing address. With this email comes our deepest wishes for your continued health and well-being to you and your family. We are looking forward to when COVID-19 is in our past, and to continuing this favorite community fundraiser event in the future.
