Wet or wet/dry vacuum cleaners, otherwise known by its generic trademark Shop-Vac, are a specialized form of a cylinder or drum model that can be used to clean up wet or liquid spills.

A man named Ives W. McGaffney invented the world’s very first vacuum cleaner in 1866. The first unit used a small hand crank that was attached to bellows to suck the air from a tube.

If your vacuum cleaner is no longer picking up dirt, it may be time to have it serviced. First, check to see if the bag is full or the belt is worn or broken, but, if everything checks out, then it’s most likely time for repair.

Always make sure that your vacuum’s filter(s) is clean and free of debris. Dirty filters can cause the motor’s operations to be compromised.
