Happy Friday! Our ducks are starting the weekend off right, beating the bucket drum. Sound on for some duck rhythm. On the farm we have been gearing up for Thanksgiving, including organizing this years drive by turkey pickup. It should be one for the books, just like this whole year We still have a few turkeys left on the website, pasture raised and organically fed. It doesn’t get better then that!

We’re cleaning up the pumpkin field! The chickens are getting all the left over pumpkins, weed seeds and bugs. They do what they love while cutting our labor and leaving some good nitrogen for next years crop. A win win win Good things to think about while we wait for the election results.

We have balls of fluff in the brooder again. I forget how small they are, every time It has been a challenge relying on the postal service for our deliveries of chicks. I know there is good reason as they are dealing with an onslaught of ballots. Voting is so important that I’m cutting them some slack. Please vote if you haven’t had a chance.

Our Chickens Love fresh greens! The challenge is to make sure they have access to them while the chickens rotate twice a week. A big pile of wet produce can make the pasture a bit of a mess, especially if it is being dumped often. Here is our test using our old macro bins that are to messed up for anything else. So far we have been happy with it.

A BIG Thank You to everyone who came out over the weekend and walked the farm and got an organic pumpkin! The self serve pumpkin stand will be up all week. If you want to get some goodies from the farm store it is open Sunday-Friday 11-5pm.

Our pumpkin stand is full of beautiful pumpkins, our farm shop is stocked with so many local goodies. Our freezers are filled with our pasture raised meats. Our farm is open this weekend and next for for the season. We have a self guided tour and pigs to feed, come visit. Please feed the animals! Come feed the pigs pumpkins this weekend. Our pigs love pumpkins and love you feeding them pumpkins. We are opening up the farm to visitors every Saturday and Saturday in October. Visit our organic pumpkin stand (sale this weekend), it is self serve on Saturday and our farm store is open on Sunday from 11-5 (farm store hours Sunday-Friday 11-5pm). Come take our self guided tour and stock up on your pasture raised meats. Note: to get to the area to feed the pigs- walk past the farm store through the barn, pumpkins and pigs are on the left. Organic Pumpkins, We got organic farm raised pumpkins at our pumpkin stand and they are on sale this weekend. We are opening up the farm every weekend in October to visitors. Today is a special day for us. Today we are mailing in our ballots, getting them in early feels so good. Listening to the news and being reminded of how much effort goes into voter suppression and confusion across the country. Voting is the least we can do if we want to be members of this democracy. Vote vote vote! Vote early!
