Rested Relaxed & Recharged Anyone who knows me knows that I pretty much always keep my cell phone on DO NOT DISTURB. It’s one of the ways that I practice being in the moment and maintain peace of mind in a small way daily. But sometimes I have to fully unplug and get into that part of nature where there’s no service at all. No bright city lights, no cars, and yes no Instagram! Just me, the family I’m with, and the reflection of God in nature.... In this modern world everyone wants a piece of us and a piece of our time with unprecedented access. That’s not a bad thing it’s necessary, and I am a giver in the truest sense. It’s important to know that in order to give to others you must replenish yourself. This is how I battle my NEUROPATHY. This video is from October 2018 when I tried out for the @lacolifeguards. The type of neuropathy I have is peripheral, which means it most severely effects the nerves beyond my elbows and beneath my knees. As someone with Charcot-Marie-Tooth, temperature is a huge determinant in my ability to move. ... This day the water had to be about 50 degrees and from the start it felt like a thousand pins and needles stabbing me everywhere. After a 1200meter sprint I could no longer stand. Ordinarily I’m able to balance on my knee caps, but I couldn’t feel anything. It’s more than just heart that kept me on my feet. Haha cause I refused to fall! Over the past 15years I have trained my body using simple tools and exercises to improve my compensation patterns and to the untrained eye, my ability. None of these tips or tools will cure or treat your neuropathy, but they’re what I’ve used to improve my QOL. Tomorrow I’m doing a giveaway, with one of my favorite neuropathy tools.
