Don’t be alarmed, the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services will issue region-wide emergency alerts today at noon. The alert will be sent through the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system to cell phone users across the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California Regions asking residents to stay home except for essential activities. The Regional Stay-Home Order took effect in those two regions at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020 and will remain in effect for at least three weeks. This message is informational only, and individuals who receive wireless alerts SHOULD NOT contact law enforcement or call 9-1-1. San Joaquin Valley residents will receive a text message from the State of California regarding the stay at home order.

While out on scene of a working fire, we often get citizens from the neighborhood offering us a cold water to drink and a friendly thank you. Today we were pleasantly surprised by one little neighbor who came out dressed in his gear ready to go. Thank you Firefighter Izzy for coming on out to help. Today is the last day to get your applications in for fire fighter trainee lateral fire fighter. For those of you who have applied or will be applying, it is anticipated that the interviews for the top candidates will be held the last week of December.
