LCTHC will be hosting another Circle of Security class series for parents and caregivers of Native American children. The Circle of Security parenting program aims to help parents/guardians understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read the emotional needs. This program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

In the event of an accident or emergency, a matter of seconds can make the difference between a life or death outcome. We know that many times our Law Enforcement officers are first on the scene at these events, and without advanced first aid equipment are limited in the life saving efforts they can administer. Lake County Tribal Health (LCTHC) first became aware of the need of Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) amongst our community’s Law Enforcement Agencies through... the County’s Sheriffs Office late last year. LCTHC then donated $6,500 to the Sheriffs Office for the purchase of 5 AED’s to be placed in patrol units and used in the field. LCTHC and its Board of Directors decided to extend the same donation offer to all of our County’s Law Enforcement Agencies. As a result, the Lakeport and Clearlake Police Departments will also be receiving a $6,500 donation for the purchase of AED units. As the only comprehensive Health Care Program in the County owned and operated by Lake County Residents FOR Lake County Residents, we take pride in participating and leading in efforts that benefit the Community as a whole regardless of whether they are our patients or not. In times of Pandemic and Government Budget Cuts, LCTHC believes in giving back to the Community that has afforded our success. Thank you.

ATTENTION: As many are aware, a lot/batch of Moderna vaccines, distributed primarily in Southern California, was found to cause severe adverse reactions among recipients. Lake County Tribal Health has audited every lot of vaccine received and administered to date and has found to be clear from the identified lot causing severe adverse reactions. Please rest assured we will continue to monitor any developments on the vaccines as we continue to inoculate our community.... Thank you, Lake County Tribal Health

The Sheriff’s Office has become aware of several social media posts and photos related to unknown types of pills that could be related to recent overdoses or de...aths. The Sheriff’s Office is not able to authenticate these photos because we do not know when or by who they were taken. This does not mean the pills in these photos are not dangerous. The Sheriff’s Office would like to advise the public that they should not take any medication/pills that have not been prescribed to them by a physician or provided to them by a pharmacist. The Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation where the pills in the photo depicted may have played a role in the death. The actual cause of death will not be known for some time pending an autopsy and toxicology results. We ask that if anyone in the public finds or comes into possession of these types of pills that they contact the Sheriff’s Office or their local law enforcement so the pills can be handled safely. If you are uncomfortable contacting law enforcement you can dispose of the pills in a SafeRx Disposal Drop Box located in the Sheriff’s Office lobby located at 1220 Martin Street, Lakeport. This drop box is anonymous and requires no contact with a deputy. See more
