Civil Air Patrol East Bay Cadet Squadron 18

Hello everyone! I know we have not posted in awhile but that doesn’t mean we have not been busy! I am truly proud of our cadets! During these unprecedented times and meeting virtually we are continuing to grow! Our cadets are still testing and promoting! Many have attended different virtual activities and continue to attend our virtual Tuesday night meetings! I am so proud of all of our cadets and especially our Cadet Staff helping our new cadets to test and promote. I appreciate our Senior Members support facilitating during our meetings and a huge thank you to our parents supporting their cadets. Cadets and Senior Members continue to check in with their wingman building friendships and keeping the camaraderie going! Soon I will post some pictures so you can see what we have beeen up to. Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since we have posted. During Shelter in Place, we continue to have our Tuesday night meetings virtually. It is good to see and hear from everyone attending. We continue stay connected and even grow. Congratulations to C/MSgt Fontanilla on your promotion, Achievement 7! Congratulations to C/A1C Sadaghiani to your promotion, Achievement 2. Go Firebirds!

Cadets got to meet Anchor, Pamela Moore! She graciously shook each cadets hand and thanked them for a job well done! Cadets took pictures with a few of the female pilots that hosted and attended the Gala from all over the country and pilots for various airlines!

Incredible evening! Phenomenal Firsts, Sisters of the Skies. We met Dr. Sheila Chamberlain who spent time talking to our Color Guard. Her mentor was Willa Brown 1st African American woman to earn her pilots license in the United States. And the first African-American woman to run for the United States Congress, the first African-American officer in the US Civil Air Patrol, and the first woman in the United States to have both a pilot's license and a mechanic's license. Dr. Sheila Chamberlain is an American pilot. She was the first black woman combat intelligence pilot in the United States Army and the first woman to be elected to the national Tuskegee Airmen. She is a member of the United States Air Force Hall of Fame. Incredible for our cadets the have met her and to be embraced by her.
