O Holy Blessed One, we acknowledge before you that the treatment accorded the Jewish people on the part of Christian believers has been a tragic development in ...the long history of Christianity. This includes the horrors of the Holocaust of the twentieth century in places where Lutheran churches were strongly represented. With deep and abiding sorrow, we confess before you and one another, that we have too often been silent before, or complicit in, the sad contagion of anti-Semitism which continues to this day. O Maker and Keeper of us all, reform our faith and our living to reflect more boldly your endless mercy. -A Litany of Confession based on the "Declaration of ELCA to the Jewish Community"

When stay-at-home orders were issued in Thousand Oaks, California, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, usually buzzing with activity - knitting and quilting groups, y...outh group, praise band practice, book clubs - fell silent. But for three hours a day, a small number of volunteers arrive to serve lunch to those who are homeless. Local farmers provide fresh produce, with grocery stores and restaurants providing food as well. With an LDR COVID-19 grant from the Southwest California Synod to help with unexpected expenses, Holy Trinity has been able to continue God's work in their community. See more

#ThrowbackThursday | Take a deep breath. Quiet your heart. Listen to the 2019 Churchwide Assembly sing Lord Jesus, You Shall Be My Song and rest assured tha...t you don’t journey alone. I fear in the dark and the doubt of my journey; but courage will come with the sound of your steps by my side. And with all of the family you saved by your love, we'll sing to your dawn at the end of your journey. [Video recorded August 2019]
