Local 483's Social Media Policy Social media sites are powerful tools for building relationships, marketing our union, and discussing the important issues facing our members and industry. However, when used improperly, social media can give rise to serious legal and other problems. This Local Union 483 Policy was developed to help minimize such problems and to promote safe spaces in social media for free and open discussions. Members shall refrain from posting anything on ...Local 483’s social media that: Is untruthful, defamatory, libelous or invades a person’s privacy Is discriminatory, hateful, harassing or threatening Is obscene, profane or vulgar Violates copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights Attacks our union as an institution or discloses proprietary, confidential or other information that interferes with the performance of its legal or contractual obligations Includes union election campaign content, such as advocacy for or against a candidate for union office Includes spam, flaming or flooding Includes advertising or solicitation Local 483 reserves the right to delete or block any content and/or user on Local 483's social media when the content and/or user violate these rules. Members should also be aware that communications through a Local 483 social media site or page shall in no way constitute a legal or official notice, comment or request to Local 483. Local 483 has an old school desk that we have somehow acquired throughout the years. We have no need for it, so rather than throwing away a usable desk, we want to offer it to a member that may need it for homeschooling their children. It is 3’ wide X 1’8 deep. ...
