Home remodeling is booming!! 79% of homeowners surveyed by @houzz say they’re now considering major home remodeling and design projects after spending more time at their home during the pandemic. If you are considering a home renovation in the near future, we cannot stress enough to START PLANNING NOW. Here’s why:... QUALITY WORKMANSHIP Most licensed and reputable contractors are busy on a regular basis and unable to start your project right away (many have a project pipeline of at least 6-12 months out). QUALITY MATERIALS & DELAYS The pandemic is causing a surge in remodels, but also some disruption to the supply-chain (some materials are taking longer than before to be manufactured or delivered; even home improvement retailers are working hard to keep inventory on the shelves). DON’T RUSH DECISIONS For most, your home is and will be, your biggest investment. You can be ‘living with’ (literally) these decisions for the next 10-20 years. Hi, It’s Arin-Marie from WestGallery Interior Design! For my first takeover, I thought I’d tackle the most basic and common question: What exactly does an Interior designer do? And, why does hiring a designer bring value to a remodel project? A designer will put your project into a workable plan like having navigation for a road trip. You want to know what your destination is going to look and feel like, so everyone onboard is on the same page. A plan will allow you to ...firm up your budget and create and/or correct any details before you get started. For instance, we would provide a complete coordinated palette of finishes, as well as a set of drawings that include the coordination of cabinetry, plumbing, appliances, lighting, and your beautiful decorative finishes. Your project design will be firmed up and ready for construction! If needed, we are also able to supply many of the finishes for the project. Many clients find that we can provide better pricing and save them time and money with coordination...and most importantly, we save you the headache! Many design firms will also handle the building permit process with local agencies taking care of the sometimes lengthy and confusing submittal process. Creating a plan, flushing out the details, and managing the ordering and delivery process of your materials, is just scratching the surface of what an interior designer brings to your project.
