My love for @rachelpally (the woman and the clothes) runs so deep. I’ve always respected her inclusive sizing, her sustainable business practices and her commitment to manufacturing everything right here in LA. But I obviously wouldn’t wear her clothes if they also didn’t have the most flattering fits and feel the coziest. Do you want to hear more about me, her, and receive 20% off your RP order? Head to the link in my profile to get transported to the feature on her blog. All stunning by the lovely @morganpansing

Herb spotlight on cardamom, or Sha Ren You may already enjoy this warming spice sprinkled on your morning latte or in your favorite muffin recipe. It’s actually been used for thousands of years in Chinese herbal medicine, primarily to treat digestive disorders by moving Qi, easing Stomach pain, and strengthening the Spleen. I add it to herbal formulas to treat one of the most common pregnancy symptoms, morning sickness. Cardamom will help increase your appetite, regulate elimination, and calm a restless fetusRemember, always check with your physician or a licensed herbalist before adding any new supplement to your routine. Also, remember that I do virtual herbal consultations, so if you are feeling too nauseous to come in, we can discuss all the things on . Garam masala made by @chefviveksingh

I’m really leaning into this classic point combination this week, called Buddha’s Triangle. The points are along the Heart, Pericardium, and Lung channels and when they are needled together, they form the shape of a . Combining these three acupuncture points on the wrist can take the charge out of stress, anxiety, depression and trauma. Acupuncture is one of the many different ways to soothe the psycho emotional aspects of life. What are you choosing to do for your mental health until Jan 20th arrives?

Making peace with 2020 by giving thanks for the difficult, hard-to-swallow blessings of this year, because even though it’s been brutal, it’s also been slow, thoughtful and introspective. Giving thanks for all the friends, family, and patients walking this path with me and generously sharing their energy. Giving thanks for the eternal healer of Time, and it’s ability to lessen the charge around all of our heartaches, challenges and wounds. Wishing you a new year where we come together to celebrate the good, the less good, and more of the good. by @weronikamarianna

Doesn’t mean we’re done by any means, but raising girls in a Bidden-Harris America sure does feel more hopeful. As a mother, as an immigrant, and as a women, I can breathe a lot lighter knowing that positive change is on the horizon. Image via @meena

On the heels of the election, I’m reminding myself that our work is far from done. May we continue to show up with intention. Spend with intention. Sign petitions and write to congress and call our leaders with intention. Around this time every year, I notice an uptick in patients wanting to work on buildng immunity as we head into cold and flu season, and for obvious reasons, boosting immunity has never been as important as it is now. In Chinese medicine Autumn corresponds with the Lung organ, and the Lungs control the Wei Qi, a protective barrier on the outer layer of the skin that acts as a shield. When functioning properly, this Qi blocks pathogens (think colds & flu) from entering the b...ody. Basically, it’s Chinese medicine’s version of the immune system. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, quality sleep and balanced nutrition are all great ways to bolster your body’s Wei Qi. I usually recommend coming in 1x/week if you’re feeling run down and at least once a month for general maintenance to keep your immune system in fighting shape. Image via @__baeige__ See more

I treat women at all stages of their fertility journeys, a period of time that goes far beyond three trimesters or 40 weeks. This transformational arc is truly much longer and includes two additional phases bookending the typical three trimesters. I call these the zero and fourth trimesters to include the preconception and postpartum periods. It’s essential that women get the support they need through each of these five stages of pregnancy. Every journey is different, and one stage may be more challenging than others, but all are vital to the wellbeing of baby and mama. I’m here to help guide you through each stage from 0 to 4 and beyond Art by @_mariatoscano

I managed to convince my girls to let me use one of their pumpkins to make Pumpkin and Rice Soup from 101 Cookbooks, and it did not dissappoint. As we transition into cooler weather, Chinese Medicine encourages us to incorporate more warming foods into our diets. I’m always championing cooked over raw foods to support digestion year-round, but mixing in more soups, broths, and warming spices can be extra supportive at this time of year. This recipe features ginger, chilis, and pureed pumpkin, plus Qi-nourishing brown rice, making it especially warming and harmonizing. Click the link in my bio to grab the recipe. I met @ccmeyer as she was stepping into her calling as a doula and have loved each time she comes in craving some cupping. Today she is a pillar of support for new mamas that take her prenatal courses, invite her into their birthing portals, use her incredible @candthemoon body scrub and consider their impact on Mother Earth. To say I adore this woman is an understatement and I’m so honored to be on her blog today chatting about the benefits of Chinese Medicine before, during, and after pregnancy. Check it out on her website or in my stories
