Hi Everyone! Scooby here! I just wanted to give you all an update on how my procedures went. I had my dental done and the dogter removed some black teeth that were sideways and causing me pain. He also removed a lot warts/growths that he felt were caused by years of malnutrition. The procedure took a very long time (3 hours!) because my skin is so thick and hard to close due to chronic inflammation. The dogter did say that I have to go back in 1 month and have 3 more teeth removed. He could not keep me under anesthesia any longer to remove anymore teeth. My foster Mom is keeping my very comfortable and spoiling me. I want to thank everyone for their donations and well wishes! I certainly felt the love. It's only through the help of you kind people that SCLRR can help pups like me.

Sweet Miss Maple was just picked up by her foster family. The ER cleaned/drained the infection, did a culture and prescribed a second antibiotic. Heading home to rest now.

Miss Maple here again. I am not feeling so great this morning as my face is swollen. I am back at the ER vet to see what is going on. Please send good vibes my way. Update 10.00 am. The ER doctor just called and Miss Maple has an abscess and infection under her chin (most probably from the bite) that generated the swelling. They are going to have to put her under anesthesia again to clean it up then re-do the muzzle. They are going to take a culture to test what type of infection is exactly just to make sure she is on the right antibiotics.

Hi everyone it’s me, Miss Maple. Thank you soooo much for your help. I am safe and very loved in my foster home. I’m already starting to feel better. I love to snuggle and give small kisses through my muzzle. I am bottle fed 4-5 times a day and can’t get enough of that yummy food. When my pain medication wears off I start to shake a bit and my foster mom gives me more and I feel great. I’m really am grateful for your help and I know my friends at SCLRR will keep updating you on my progress. Xoxo Sent from my iPhone

Miss Maple is a sweet little puppy with big problems. At 8 weeks, she was purchased from a backyard breeder only to be taken home to a nightmare. Within the first few days of arriving, the older dog was left unsupervised in the room with her and attacked multiple times. The result? A broken jaw, several puncture wounds that required stitches and a whole lot of pain. The owner then took her to a vet and was given a hefty estimate for her care ($5,000-7,000) so they opted fo...r no care at all (not even X-rays to confirm a diagnosis). Next day they took her directly to the local shelter for euthanasia. Fortunately for Miss Maple, the kind shelter employees decided to give this baby girl a chance and asked the owners to allow them to place her with a rescue instead. The shelter contacted SCLRR this morning and we rushed to pick her up and took her directly to Blue Pearl in Irvine, which is an ER and specialty hospital. The great team at Blue Pearl took Miss Maple in immediately where she was sedated so they could take proper x-rays of her, repositioned her mandible to the right location, repaired the fracture and stitched her puncture wounds. The conclusion is that she has a long journey toward healing ahead and her mouth will have to be taped for some time and fed by syringe. The surgeon is optimistic that at her young age she will heal well. As of now, Miss Maple is resting comfortably in her new foster home and is adored. Will you partner with us to get Maple on the road to full recovery? The total cost for today's procedure was $1,569.84 and she’ll require follow-up care as well. Can you donate a little bit to SCLRR to help offset Miss Maple’s expenses? It’s only through the donations of friends like you that SCLRR can rescue other dogs like Maple and give them the life they deserve. Your donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. If we all donate a little, it adds up quickly. So, please give today, here on Facebook or visit SCLRR.org to donate through PayPal or mail a donation to us at SCLRR - 24325 Crenshaw Blvd #137, Torrance, CA 90505. Thank you again for being on Miss Maple’s team of angels. We’ll be sure to post her pawsitive updates as she recovers.

Marley Moe is a big handsome hunk of love boy! He is 11 years old, yellow male, approximately 97 pounds and as sweet as can be. Since coming into rescue he had blood work done, a dental, vaccines and several fatty lumps removed. He is blind in one eye but that doesn’t stop him, he gets around just fine and he sees perfect from the other eye. He will need to have drops applied in his blind eye once a day for the rest of his life an anti-inflammatory. The cost for the eye drops... is around $35.00/month. He loves to get pets and snuggle right next to you. He is very gentle on the leash as well as taking treats or giving him medicine. He’s is the perfect gentleman. He is good around all animals including cats! He was at a farm for few days and he was introduced to geese, rabbits, ponies, cats, and multiple dogs with no issues. He is a little overweight and we have been working on losing weight and has lost a little but should lose some more.He would do best with someone who is home most of the day as he likes to be around people and loves attention. He’s very gentle with children. Marley Moe is completely house trained. He knows how to use a doggie door but he prefers the foster family to accompany him outside. He really is the best boy and will make someone very happy! Approved families please contact your family rep! See more
