Calling all artists and sign makers! MainStreet Oceanside is seeking proposals for an iconic Oceanside sign design for the Downtown Oceanside Property and Busin...ess Improvement District managed by MainStreet. Spanning the intersection at Pier View Way and North Tremont Street, this over-the-road-style sign will serve as a new landmark at the heart of the #sunsetmarket and create a #downtownoceanside destination that locals and visitors are invited to enjoy for decades to come. As part of a two-tiered selection process, candidates must submit an initial design by Jan. 13, 2021. Five designs will then be selected by the PBID Placemaking Ad Hoc Committee with direction from the Oceanside Arts Commission Ad Hoc Committee to move into Round Two, where candidates will be granted $1,000 and four weeks to flesh out their designs and budgets before the PBID Ad Hoc Committee chooses the final three sign designs. The community will then choose the winning sign in a public vote. The Downtown Oceanside Property and Business Improvement District is an assessment district that has been tasked with providing services above and beyond the level the City of Oceanside currently provides in the areas of Maintenance, Safety, Economic Development and Administration & Advocacy.
