Thanks to the generous funding from Dignity Health Community Grant through Dignity Health Medical Group - Sierra Nevada, we are able to keep the van on the road! Our transportation program enhances the life of people who are visually impaired by helping them maintain their doctors appointments and their overall health. #NevadaCounty #HelloHumankindness

#GivingTuesday is a global giving program where millions of people have come together to support the causes they believe in, such as blindness or other disabilities. Sierra Services for the Blind became involved with this movement to sustain the services that we provide in our community. While donations are graciously accepted, this year we hope that people will help us by word of mouth. With the changes we have all endured because of COVID, we have not been able to do our co...mmunity events and fundraisers. As a result, people are starting to forget about us and who we serve. These events are important to us because it allows us to create awareness in the community not just about our organization but about blindness and visual impairment. THIS WILL BE ONE OF OUR ONLY AND LAST EVENTS OF THE YEAR. If you choose to include us in your holiday giving you can visit our website for an electronic donation, mail a check or call us at (530) 265-2121. We are a 501c(3) non-profit agency. All donations are tax deductible.

This year has been revealing. It is easy to identify the things that have gone wrong but let's identify somethings that went right and that we can be thankful for... ~We were able to keep our doors open during this pandemic. ~Without our volunteer drivers there is no way we would be able to do the medical transportation on the scale we are which we are. ~Without the communities need for our services and support none of what we do could happen.... THANK YOU Nevada County for your continued support! We are taking a few days off and will be back in the office on Monday, November 30!
