To us, the better a writer knows the art & literature of the past the more convincingly they can write about those of the present, and @davidrimanelli has written so well, for so long, about contemporary art that you just know there must be a lot of great reading behind him. Little surprise then (but a great delight) to see just how deep and far-ranging David's reading goes, and what fun he has with it, in this week's installment of #onegreatreader with @wesdelval.

This is how a hardcover book should behave itself. Laying flat open without creating a fuss or cracking the spine. The pages displaying enough margin to make room for your thumbs to hold them without blocking any words (not to mention framing the text beautifully). A thoughtfully designed jacket is good as well. Not loud or overdone. This one has all that and Swann’s Way printed on the pages, too.

Paris-based @gemmajanes turned her Instagram book recommendations into the very personal book subscription service, @sendb00ks. In this week's #onegreatreader, Gemma talks about reading Dostoevsky at modeling casting calls (The stories were so funny, so farcical, but so relatable that it helped me to keep everything in perspective), shares the dead author’s she’d play poker with, and even includes the full text of Virginia Woolf’s last love letter to her husband (it’s also her suicide note). A lot of girls can say they "probably read too much Anaïs Nin as a teenager", but very few have been able to do what @isabellaburley has done, turning that sensibility into an estimable career as an editor in the worlds of art & fashion (most recently of @helmutlang and @dazed), as well as a becoming a bookseller (see @climaxbooks) combining those worlds with her own fascinations around the culture of sexuality.
