Dear Band Parents, You are invited to attend our first band booster meeting for 2020-21 school year via Zoom! The meeting is scheduled for this Thursday 9/24 @ 6 PM. Please drop by this important meeting to meet new people and stay "in the loop" on important PGHS Band information. Most importantly, how are we going to do band during a pandemic?? Mr. Souliere has sent out the meeting link and password via Synergy Mail. If you have not received an email, please message us or Mr. Souliere at [email protected]. REMINDER: The first Marching Band Rehearsal is tomorrow, Wednesday, 9/23 @ 4-5:30PM via Zoom.

There will be Band! And Band Camp! Mr. Souliere sent out an email yesterday with information regarding plans for the 2020-2021 school year. Please let us know if you did not receive anything and would like to get on the email list. We want to make sure you don't miss a thing!

The EGUSD Board will be meeting next on June 30 to decide on the plans for the 2020-21 school year. Their decisions will be based on CIF's decision on athletics and the recommendations of Sacramento County Dept of Public Health. It is crucial that parents and the community get involved now to advocate for the children to get a safe and well-rounded education. A one-question survey was e-mailed out yesterday to all parents in the district. Please send back your response ASAP. You are invited to join the Elk Grove Visual and Performing Arts Boosters to find out the latest news regarding school reopening and the status of VAPA programs in Elk Grove Unified School District.

For anyone who has been in a band or a parent of a kid in band, there is no doubt that music is important for our kids' academic, emotional, social, and physical well-being. To us, it is no different than any sports team in providing that necessary enrichment in the schools. Our marching band is 90-member strong and likely the largest team on campus. Yet band is frequently overlooked when discussing policies that affect high school athletics programs. Now that school distr...icts across the nation are working out plans for reopening schools with modifications, there is uncertainty as to whether and how to reopen with team sports. We urge all of you to stay involved with your school districts and participate in the process to get our kids back into school safely. Hey all you cool cats and kittens.... just letting you all know how much the entire BOOSTERS team MISSES you all!!!! Here are some of the better times of our time together this 2019/20 school year.

We the band boosters are missing the wonderful sounds of the kids making music together. Doing it virtually or individually just isn't quite the same. But for now, YouTube will have to do!
