The Every Student Succeeding Honoree today is from Shasta County Independent Study. As a junior in high school, Jaden has taken much responsibility for himself ...and his family. He takes care of his little brothers as his father works long hours. In addition, he has a job to help support himself, his girlfriend, and their new daughter. Through it all, Jaden stays on top of all his school work and checks in for every meeting and appointment making school a top priority. Jaden’s tenacity has helped him succeed. See more

As part of the 2021 Every Student Succeeding recognition, today we honor Hunter Poling. Hunter is a 7th grade student whose family lost their home and all his v...aluables in the Carr Fire. To this point, his family has not yet been able to totally rebuild their home. Despite these setbacks, Hunter comes to school and succeeds. He works extremely hard, taking his school work seriously. This year, Hunter’s hard work has helped him to make amazing growth in reading. Hunter is also supportive of his friends and classmates, treating each one with respect. See more

One of our Every Student Succeeding Honorees is Elijah Gale. Eli is a 6th grade student who has battled more in his life than most adults. He was diagnosed with... a stage 4 malignant brain tumor and has had many surgeries and treatments, spending well over a year in the hospital. Those who know him well call him a warrior who is one of the kindest people with a passion for life. He shares curiosity, respect, compassion, and acceptance, making Juniper School a brighter place. Lead Custodian Matt Nichols at Manzanita Elementary has been working his ‘Christmas Magic’ moving the larger than life Elf on campus. Each day the students arrive at school and are excited to find that their Elf has mysteriously moved to a new hiding spot on campus. This is such a joy to watch every morning!!
