We are happy to see the 75th Anniversary for the End of WWII operation made it to Hawaii safe and sound with the aircraft aboard! They’re currently getting lifted off the boat to be stationed nearby in preparation for the three flyovers for the event, to take place at the end of the month. Our PV-2D Harpoon, en route to San Diego for loading onto the ship, sadly experienced engine failure and could not make it. She’s down for the count, as we could not get a spare engine in ...time for the event. We would have loved to have had her representation for such a large piece of the war not many people know about, but are glad 14 aircraft made it onto the boat. These aircraft are in very good hands with the joint effort of the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and the Navy, as well as the Warbird operators and mechanics. Taigh Ramey is part of that effort, though he couldn’t bring the Harpoon, is taking every precaution to ensure safety and efficiency for the on and offload. Even the Secretary of Defense is feeling as proud as we are! https://twitter.com/esperdod/status/1293955754379157505?s=21 Stay tuned for more updates on the event, as well as information on how you can help us in our efforts to get our Harpoon home!

In about 3 weeks the museums PV-2 "Harpoon" will be flown down to San Diego to be loaded via crane onto the deck of the U.S.S. Essex, to be shipped to Hawai'i, to be off-loaded in Pearl Harbor and flown to Wheeler Field to be a part of the celebration of the conclusion of WWII, 45 years ago. In order to get these two WWII PV-2 pilots to Hawai'i, the museum is having a fundraiser to cover their travel. We're almost 1/3rd of the way there, and are starting the "final push" to ...have these hero's able to join in this once in a lifetime flight of WWII aircraft around Hawai'i in the plane they flew in WWII. Please, if you can, donate to this noble cause, and help the museum accomplish this financial goal. Thank you in advance! https://www.facebook.com/donate/1177017329318700/
