RED ALERT - Save the Live Event Industry! #RedAlert #RedAlertRestart #ExtendPUA #WeMakeEvents
Red Alert - Del Mar Fairgrounds September 1, 2020, 9-11pm SAVE LIVE EVENTS... #wemakeevents #saveliveevents
Be sure to watch Red Alert Live on Facebook and YouTube Tuesday, Sept 1st, 9pm-1am EST. More than 1,500 buildings, iconic structures, and residences will light ...up in red tomorrow, September 1. As Red Lights glow nationwide, the tens of thousands of people following this event on social media are invited to watch RED ALERT LIVE, with incredible sights, sounds and interviews streaming live, for FREE from 9pm-1am Eastern Time on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WeMakeEventsNorthAmerica; or YouTube at https://bit.ly/WeMakeEventsLive. RED ALERT LIVE will bring you to buildings being lit red in cities coast-to-coast, but also exclusive video footage, live interviews with our own folks and special guests, plus, even a few Live performances. The stream will begin in New York City and conclude in Los Angeles, two epicenters of live events that have been crippled by the COVID-19 pandemic. The live event is a part of We Make Events, and #RedAlertRESTART, a coalition of live events professionals and a call to action formed to urge Congress to pass the RESTART Act to help small businesses, to extend PUA for 1099 workers, and extend the $600 FPUC benefits for displaced workers. Support for this project has been incredible, considering the group began work only on August 14th!
CALLING ALL ENTERTAINMENT, HOSPITALITY, EVENT INDUSTRY WORKERS AND RELATED BUSINESSES 10:00am tomorrow morning (Monday Aug 31st) we are gathering at the San Diego County Administration Building located at 1600 Pacific Coast Hwy, San Diego, CA 92101. Supervisor Desmond is holding a press conference where he will be asking the Governor to return control of San Diego back to the County. After careful review of the new color coding system, we have realized that our industry ...will never be able to move forward. In fact, it’s set up for us to fail once the regular flu season starts. The concession for 25% indoor capacity at restaurants and the 10% allowed at gyms was in response to the pressure that was put on him last week. He knows it’s not enough for the overwhelming majority of businesses to survive another 3 months. We need a big group tomorrow to show the state that San Diego is ready to move forward. It’s time to get back to work safely! Please join us and spread the word!
Support the Live Event Industry..please join us at the rally, this Thursday at 2pm.
