As of today (Mon, Oct 4th), SCCMAS members how have 7 day a week access to the field through the private entrance gate. We are looking to re-establish trash service soon, but for now please haul out your trash.

The latest issue of Servo Chatter is now up on the website! It contains a lot of important details for the opening weekend. Please read them carefully. The SCCMAS website (www.sccmas.org) was impacted by a software update the past few days and is now back online. We expect to have the newsletter out by Tuesday with details on the opening weekend. Stay tuned!

Exciting News! The field will have a soft re-opening for members the weekend of June 19th on the new entrance road. This is for MEMBERS ONLY! Although, if you are not currently a member, you can certainly join before then. Dues will be half off for the rest of 2021 for new members or those who have not renewed in previous years. Please bear with us as we work through all of this. Stay tuned for more details.

For those asking about road construction updates, the SCCMAS sent out messaging to members in early March that construction had started on the new road in February. Unfortunately, it was halted in March due to the Covid-19 situation. When it re-starts and we have further information on a potential road opening date, we will let you know. But, for now, the limited progress to date is good news!

Thank you for all the phone calls and emails about our annual air show. Unfortunately we still do not have vehicular access to the field, so the 2017 air show was cancelled. We hope to again have the show in 2018.

The road to Tomcats' field has been washed out. Thanks to Walter Colby for taking this video! We have already started conversations with the County to make repairs as soon as possible.

We regret to inform everyone that, due to the extensive amount of rain we have experienced in the past few days, the road into Tomcat's field has been closed. Portions of the road have been washed away and undermined. The Coyote bike trail has been closed in this area as well. Fire and emergency services would not have access to this area. This is a reminder that our June club meeting and BBQ is this Saturday, June 25 at the field. We are going to have a short airshow meeting just prior to the BBQ at around 4:30. BBQ will start at 5:00 and the meeting will start as soon as everyone has had their fill. Cub and Cousins event is also this Saturday, June 25! The event will start around 9:00am and run till about 3:00. It's simple; any size Cub or equivalent cousin airplane (Taylorcraft, Decathlon, High wing trainer..., etc...). From micros to giant scale, all are welcome. Open to all soloed pilots of any skill level. AMA is required. Aircraft can have any Cub-high wing equivalent appearance, color scheme, engine; gas, glow or electric. Show off your flying skills by participating in our volunteer events; spot landings(no flaps), one wheel touch-and-go, shortest takeoff(no flaps), mirrored taxi, many others. Landing fee is only $10. This is a reminder that this Saturday, June 4, is our Annual field maintenance day. Bring those handyman skills, gardening tools, wheel barrows, paint brushes, shovels... Just sign in and pick a task. Don't forget that all volunteers get an entry into our volunteer appreciation raffle at the end of the year! You get an extra entry each time you volunteer for a task or event at the field. The field will be closed to flying from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. ... Tasks: Painting tables/fence posts, staining the deck, weed trimming, parking area cleanup, R/V area cleanup, lawn mowing, edging, repair tables/awning covers, clearing the brush at the entry gate, painting the speed bumps, etc. We are looking into utilizing a new area for our overflow parking north of the field. We need to trim the grasses down for fire prevention. Gas weed whackers and/or generators will be needed since there is no electricity in that area. It looks like it will be a warm day so get here early to beat the heat. Bring plenty of sunscreen, we'll provide drinking water. FREE Coffee and donuts and BBQ for all volunteers.

Come out and join the Tomcats at our 2 1/2-day Heli Jamboree Fly In. Open flying for all types of model helicopters, beginners to advanced, Scale, sport and 3-D. View of the SCCMAS tomcats field available on Real Flight. There will be a Auto Rotation and Heli Drag racing contest for those who would like to participate. Free to spectators! Flight training from local pilots and demonstrations from factory pilots on Saturday. Get tips and pointers from the top R/C heli pilots. ...On-site coffee and donuts in the morning followed by a BBQ on Saturday. Field open to fixed wing aircraft after 12pm on Sunday. Come out and enjoy a day of fun and take a look back in time at aviation. Noon time R/C flying demonstration. This is just a reminder that the Tomcats will be hosting the F100 Silicon Valley auto club from about 09:30 for an hour or so this Saturday. Airshow 2016 is on!

This is a reminder to join us for our SCCMAS spring swap meet this Saturday, April 2, 2016. The gates will not be opened until 07:00. NO EARLY ENTRIES! 10x10 spots $10. Limited park tables available on a first come first served basis. Bring a table and chair. Coffee and donuts in the morning followed by a BBQ.... Flying will be allowed during the swap meet but only on 2.4ghz and at your own risk. Transmitters may be turned on in the pits however, no arming or starting engines in the pits will be allowed.
