MTD Throwback Thursday: The Santa Barbara News-Press published this article on August 12th 1996. "[MTD's electric vehicles have] become a model of odorless, exhaust-free efficiency that's attracted the attention of transportation people from all over the world. ... MTD-developed expertise is helping Hong Kong develop an electric transit fleet. In a May 1995 report on the MTD electric shuttle program, the U.S. Department of Energy noted that it was 'an immediate success with riders.' That claim was supported by MTD figures."
