From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence. Have a safe 4th of July.
This week, the Military Women’s Memorial was paid a visit by PFC Patricia Morlock Sanderson, who served in the Marine Corps from 1954-1955. She and her granddau...ghter, Bethany, have been road-tripping for a wedding and decided to visit Washington D.C. along the way. They came to the Military Women’s Memorial to attend the USMC sunset parade. Upon their arrival, Patricia was invited to the pre-parade reception and to ride with VIPs to the parade. While enchanting guests with her stories and smile, Morlock Sanderson, 87, enthusiastically displayed her USMC tattoo. During her time of service, women were not permitted to get USMC tattoos. Patricia got her tattoo two years ago, at 85 years, proving that once a Marine, always a Marine. We thank PFC Morlock Sanderson for her service and for making our day a bit brighter with her vibrant energy and enthusiasm for the Marines. The camaraderie that is forged by military service never fades, even decades after retirement. If you know a servicemember who served from 1954-1955, Patricia and her granddaughter would like to hear from you! Please comment below to connect. One of the images below is Patricia posing next to her registry profile. The Military Women's Memorial registry preserves stories for generations to come. #CardAlert From the the National WMA inbox: Mom has been living at Hallmark Nursing Center since December 2018, where she still resides. The nursing home has been on lockdown since March with no visitors allowed in and residents have not been allowed out, or even to use the dining room.... She contracted COVID-19 in mid-May and in true Marine fashion, she kicked its butt. It set her back, but she regained her independence to walk alone using her walker by July 3rd. Anyway, she will be celebrating her 100th birthday on November 8th. I wanted to ask if anyone would like to send her a card, she would love it and it would be much appreciated. She has fond memories of her time in the corp; 1943-1945. Her address as follows: Esther R. Bish C/O Hallmark Nursing Center 3701 W Radcliff Ave Rm 230-B Denver, CO. 80236
This invite has been sent to us! Looks like a great time!!
Save The Date! October 17th 2020 @1400 Arlington National Cemetery ... The Pledge statue will take her place in Arlington to honor the women of our amazing K9 community! Huge shout out to US War Dogs Association for making this happen!
Sharing from a post on the National WMA page: Our dear 97 year old sister Marine Catherine Louise Frazier gained her wings today. She was an amazing lady who will be missed sorely.
Any of my sister interested in a marketing manager position?
