UPDATE: From Sacramento County Sheriff's Department CCW Unit and Sacramento Gun Club We've received many calls from CCW Holders and are sharing this most recent information with you. At this time, all appointments for NEW CCW's have been cancelled. Please see the Sheriff's Website for more Information on how renewals are being handled at this time. ... Due to recent gun range closures caused by COVID-19, we are currently processing each CCW permit on a case-by-case basis. Please submit your renewal application online ONLY at www.https://sacramentoca.permitium.com/ccw/start and submit ALL required documents with the exception of your training and qualification documents. Reasonable accommodations/extensions will be made as long as you have filed within the grace period. Please do not call. Please continue to check our website for updates. Dear Members and Customers of the Sacramento Gun Club: I wanted to provide updated information regarding our response to the COVID 19 event. As with area gun retailers, our retail business will be open beginning Saturday, March 21. We will continue with the following operational procedures for our members and customers:... We are allowing no more than ten people in the store at one time. This allows for our team to work more efficiently with our customers and members. We will be opening at our regularly scheduled time and will be closing the door at 4 pm. This allows for the team to complete transactions with persons already in the club. Once the club is empty, our team is cleaning and conducting restocking/inventory. Ammunition purchases limited to 250 rounds per caliber. This may change daily with increases or decreases in amounts pending stock on hand. The range and our training program are still closed until further notice. Again, everything is fluid, and our operations could change, however until then our retail department will continue to serve our members and community. Dear Members and Customers of the Sacramento Gun Club: On Thursday, March 19, 2020, Governor Newsome issued Executive Order N-33-20 to the people of California. Prior to this, the Sacramento County Health Department issued a Sacramento County-wide Health Order for Sacramento Residents to Stay at Home. Both orders became effective just before midnight on Thursday, March 19. We, at the Sacramento Gun Club began the COVID 19 directives by both the state and county beginning Tues...day, March 17th by following all recommendations for the health and safety of our shooting sports community. Per the Governor’s Order, our range is an entertainment venue, and our classes cannot follow the social distancing protocols. Regrettably, we have closed the range, and our training courses until the Order is rescinded. As this decision was based on a government order, there will be no course refunds at this time. The courses will resume and be rescheduled once the Order has been rescinded. We are reviewing current retail industry trends and will provide information as to the status of our retail operations on Monday, March 23, 2020. Beginning on Monday, March 23, those who have firearms pending delivery due to the DROS 10-day period, will be contacted to provide them with further information. Persons who have firearms with our Gunsmith, you will also be contacted and provided further details. Once the Order has been rescinded, we will be fully operational to serve our community. I want to thank everyone for their support during this unprecedented time, but most of all I want to thank the employees of the Sacramento Gun Club who went beyond the call of duty to assist all our members and customers these past few weeks. Sacramento Gun Club COVID 19 RANGE UPDATE Dear Members and Customers of the Sacramento Gun Club: We are closely monitoring the guidelines, suggestions, and orders related COVID 19 business protocols. In response to today’s announcement by the Governor of California, we have closed range and training operations until further notice. Our retail store is still open for business and will remain so unless we are advised or ordered otherwise.... Please remember purchasing a firearm requires a ten-day hold. Should we be required to close retail in response to COVID 19, those firearms that are eligible for pick up will not be available until we become operational. We are also placing purchase reasonable limits on ammunition to provide availability to as many people as possible. It is our hope these protocols will be resolved within the next few weeks in the effort to prevent transmission during the virus cycle. Our prayers are with our community members who are, or may become, impacted by the virus. We will keep you informed as to our operational status as soon conditions permit. Most of all we are thankful for your support during this unprecedented time. Kind of an interesting @glockinc specimen here. The model 37 is chambered in 45 GAP which was Glock’s effort to stuff a 45 caliber projectile into a standard frame that would generally be used for smaller calibers such as 9mm. It can be viewed similarly to how 40 S&W came to be. 10mm was difficult to shoot due to the recoil and the firearms themselves were forced to be physically larger to accommodate the 10mm cartridge, therefore the 40 S&W was developed. In the case of the ...Glock 37, the frame is the same size as a Glock 17/22/34/35 but has a wider slide similar to the Glock 20/21 (notice the bevel at the bottom of the slide to accommodate the wider slide). Although the 37 never caught on its still an interesting piece of Glock history and something you don’t see everyday. As many of you probably know, compensators are an excellent way to reduce the recoil on almost any pistol. We have seen with the proliferation of the Roland Special that it is possible to emulate the characteristics and components of a race gun while still maintaining reliability. Of course in California, compensators raise some legal difficulties as the vast majority require a threaded barrel. Of course pinning and welding the compensators is an option but that also comes ...with its limitations. Barrel porting is an excellent substitute for a compensator and is absent of legal restrictions. This G34 and G19 are a few builds that @mod_k_armory has done for us and let me tell you that these pistols shoot FLAT while still maintaining reliability. The purpose of our first annual fundraiser is to raise funds for a state-of-the-art simulator that is the cornerstone of this cutting edge, VA Approved PTSD therapy program. The Ti Training representative and clinicians from Anchor Therapy will be present to explain and talk about the new 360-degree simulator that will be used in this therapy... application. Yesterday your Sacramento Gun Club Range Safety Officers, management and retail staff were re-certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR as well as Care Under Fire by D-PREP Master Instructors, SSGT Emmett Spratkes (US ARMY RET) and Captain Sandra Spratkes, RN, BSN Nurse Corps (US ARMY RESERVES), all to keep safety at our range as priority 1 for all who choose to train with the best!
