In 1980 refinished this Chris Craft Racing Runabout for Wilbur Miller. The boat's name was "DORK". He claimed to have bought the boat new at the San Francisco Boat Show and that it was a special boat for the show.

I had to get a boat off the dock years ago. The new owner did not understand the marine single control drive/throttle system
Make a note if you are boating in the Delta.
Winterizing consists of putting a good fuel stabilizer in the fuel and running the engine until warm. Then changing the oil so the engine parts are not sitting on contaminated oil through the winter. Next the engine is run again spraying fogging oil into the carburetor choking out the engine. This will lubricate the carb linkage, upper end, guides, cylinders and rings preventing the winter moisture from rusting and corroding out the air exposed parts. Lastly we drain the engi...ne block and exhaust system on non closed cooling systems to prevent freeze damage. Now do not forget the battery. Best to disconnect the negative post and clean the top of the battery as a dirty battery top does bleed amps and can drain the battery dead. I like to remove my battery and put it on a small "fully automatic" battery charger to keep it charged and fresh through the winter. Lastly go and prop up engine doghouses or hatches and allow better air ventilation into any closed off areas of the boat. Doing a good winterization will help to insure a longer service life for your engine and less trouble for you come spring when all of the sudden you get the urge to take the boat for a dip.
