It's July 1st in the United States and for many, this signifies the start of summer. It is also the day that medical school graduates from across the globe begin their residencies in Americaincluding dozens of our candidates that are now stepping into new chapters of their lives. Like Dr. Syed, who is a cherished member of the RM family and as of today is officially a PGY-1 Resident! Congratulations to Dr. Syed and all Residents today. We're rooting for you!
Happy Orientation Day to the many Residents who are embarking upon this exciting chapter we’re rooting for you! #GoTeamGo
Today we'll meet Dr. Onu Amadi a cherished candidate who post-matched just last week into his dream residency. Here's how we helped him get there! ___ Dr. Amadi didn't require visa sponsorship but like thousands of qualified medical school graduates his IMG status filtered him out of consideration for many residency programs. To give him a wealth of hands-on experience we helped Dr. Amadi gain an unaccredited PGY-1 residency at Georgetown University Teaching Hospital.... We created the unaccredited PGY-1 program to integrate our candidates in a university-based teaching hospital’s residency program under the direct mentorship of the Program Director. Dr. Amadi was able to work within the residency team and mimic a PGY-1 curriculum, including taking the ITE. These 12 months of hands-on clinical experience at an ACGME accredited program helped showcase Dr. Amadi's talent to the decision-makers that matter. Dr. Amadi went on to complete several research fellowships/externships that gave him the critical experience that allowed him to post-match as a Categorical resident in his preferred specialty of Internal Medicine. It's education innovations like this that we strive to create every day for our candidates as we help them achieve their dreams of practicing the art of medicine. Congratulations, Dr. Amadi!
The American dream belongs to all of us. @kamalaharris Happy AAPI Heritage Month from the entire Residents Medical family!
Congratulations to our candidate Dr. Mohammed for this monumental achievement! Though Dr. Mohammed signed with us just a few months ago, we were able to overcome his low scores, attempts, and FMG status with a personalized pathway that included Dr. Mohammed's successful completion of the AHIMA Research Program. This certification, amongst our other recommendations, led to Dr. Mohammed's successful *post-match* placement into his preferred specialty of Internal Medicine. We're so grateful to make dreams like this come true every day!
