Recall Sidhu 2020 10.11.2020

While we're cleaning out the council from Sidhu, Brandman, Faessel ... don't make things worse by adding in a new kleptocrat! We're talking to YOU, District 4!!! https://youtu.be/VExxWuEO7qE

Recall Sidhu 2020 04.11.2020

Two years ago today we mused: "Harry Sidhu, a man of deep and puzzling contradictions: gung-ho faux-vet during July 4 parades, but one who sits and texts during the Pledge of Allegiance." After which we linked to Republican Katie Grachen: "I’m definitely not one to post about politics. In fact, as most of you know, I’m really not one to post about much of anything. But every so often, something infuriates me enough that I feel the need to speak about it on a social platform.... "I had the opportunity to attend the Anaheim Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast this morning, where I by unfortunate chance got stuck at a table with Harry Sidhu, a current candidate for the next mayor of Anaheim. Not only did he refuse to say the Pledge of Allegiance, but throughout the entire two hour event, Mr Sidhu sat on his phone texting, checking facebook, and refusing to listen or acknowledge the speakers. I have never seen such blatant disrespect and disregard by a person, especially at an event that is meant to bring the city together. "This is a city that he wants to run? How? By sending memes to the city council?! How about engaging with the people you are trying to lead. Being present in the moment so you have a pulse on our city and what it needs. How can you pledge to do what’s right for our city when you can’t pledge to our country? "This is not about his politics, his beliefs, or what I think he can or can’t do for the city. It’s about character, or lack of in this case. I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, mostly because I don’t care. But I will tell you from my experience today, that our city can not afford to have you vote for Harry Sidhu." https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10104023611222715&set=a.564768617065&type=3&theater

Note to folks who wanna sign the Recall this weekend (Oct 17-18): over these next 3 weeks till Election Day, the Recall Team will be pretty busy focusing on the November Council elections, and we'll be canvassing for our candidates from 10-2 on Saturday and Sunday, but we know a lot of you still want to sign for the Recall. SO - on both days, from 8 to 10AM, and from 3 to 5pm, we'll be OUTSIDE THE STATER BROTHERS on State College just north of La Palma - we haven't done any District 5 locations yet! Swing by and help us meet our quota and help make ANAHEIM HISTORY! (And Mayor Sidhu history.)

CHANGE OF PLANS FOR SUNDAY OCT 11: From 9 to 12, instead of setting up in a location, we'll be driving one of our Recall-mobiles around DISTRICT 2, getting the signatures to start the BRANDMAN RECALL, AND picking up more Sidhu recall signatures as well. District 2 is roughly Anaheim from Euclid to Magnolia (except north of Crescent, it's Euclid to Brookhurst, see pic below. If you are a District 2 voter please call us at 714-235-8376. If you're not but you're pretty close to that district and have at least 3 or 4 people who want to sign the recall, also call us, we may be able to drop by! ONWARD TO VICTORY.

Hey there Sidhu Recallers who haven't signed the Recall yet - This weekend (Sat. Oct 10 & Sun. Oct 11 from 9am to noon) we will be collecting signatures outside the Target - south side - at Euclid and Lincoln - see you there! Meanwhile here's Kenneth Batiste's powerhouse April 2019 speech in defense of the Rancho La Paz seniors suffering rent gouging, and calling for the recall of Mayor Sidhu (first public call for the Recall!) Enjoy and share.... and vote Batiste if you live in District 5, and sign the Recall if you live in Anaheim! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDtBJx1wM7k

You probably remember back in April, how Sidhu and his council majority gave $6.5 million of "emergency" money to "Visit Anaheim," to advertise/market Disneyland & the resort district, in the middle of the pandemic? Well more recently Denise Barnes and Jose Moreno learned that $4 million of that hadn't even been spent yet - and now Disneyland workers are being laid off! But when Jose proposed taking that money back and using it to help laid-off Disneyland workers, SIDHU WENT BERSERK! Listen, laugh, marvel, RECALL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ1WfrDRjkA

Will Faessel & Brandman go down with the ship this Tuesday? Despite the outrage of the public and experts, both Councilmen Steve Faessel and Jordan Brandman continue to cling to the Angels Stadium Giveaway as though it were a life-raft when in fact it is a political ANCHOR for them. Will they both vote for it AGAIN at this Tuesday’s second hearing? Bad Republican Faessel has doubled down on the swindle with happy talk and old Chamber propaganda that’s long been discredited.... Click here for a good example of his spin, and be sure to read the furious public comments. https://www.facebook.com/stevefaesselanaheim/posts/711858566033815 This is one big reason that thousands of District 5 voters are leaving Steve for the honest Kenneth Batiste. On the other end of town, bad Democrat Brandman will be recalled from office early next year along with Mayor Sidhu if he keeps supporting this heist, and he knows it. But if Jordan changes his tune, stands up to his Chamber bosses and does the right thing, he will NOT be recalled. Pass the popcorn, Angels Fans!

It’s pretty rare that I agree with my assemblyman Tom Daly on anything, but when he’s right he’s right, and this letter is for the ages: Sept. 27, 2020 To Anaheim Mayor and City Councilmembers:... Because it is an outrageously one-sided deal, I am opposed to the pending agreement to sell the stadium property to a company apparently controlled by Angels owner Arte Moreno. It is my firm belief shared by many expert professionals in real estate and city finance that this deal gives away hundreds of millions of dollars of Anaheim taxpayer money. For residents outside of Anaheim, this deal looks like a sad joke of self-inflicted bumbling and false choices. It does them no financial harm. But for Anaheim residents who own the valuable stadium property this is a massive, historic giveaway costing at least $1,000 for every man, woman and child in the city. Here are just some of the problems with this deal: 1. Property Undervalued. In recent years, provisions of the Angels lease were manipulated so as to undervalue the property. Menawhile, the city-sponsored appraisal of value was manipulated to lower the cost to the buyer. 2. Shrinking Sales Price. Why are Anaheim taxpayers reimbursing $169 million to the buyer/developer (credits) for features such as a park and affordable housing, when these items are ALWAYS the responsibility of any developer (especially one who’s receiving approval for 5.175 housing units!) 3. Mysterious Removal of City Manager. Under mysterious circumstances midway through the negotiations, the city manager was forced out of his job and paid a $475,000 buyout. 4. Saving Baseball. Underpinning the negotiations has been a laughingly false narrative about saving major league baseball in Anaheim. Sensible folks know this is just leveraging and posturing. It’s not too late to reconsider the price and terms, and avoid the embarrassment and lawsuits that are sure to follow this one-sided deal. Anaheim residents deserve a better deal, and a fair deal. Tom Daly State Assemblymember 69th District. So, when Tom’s aide sent me this letter, she told me This really hurts Tom deeply as an Anaheim resident, and I responded, I don’t think it hurts him enough, he’s still endorsing Steve Faessel for Council, and Steve is totally responsible for this. She responded that the endorsement pre-dated the Stadium Deal, a sort of absurd contention as this deal has been in the works for two years and Steve has always been behind it. But I answered, Well, Tom is a Democrat, and it’s not too late for him to rescind his endorsement of Steve, a Republican, and endorse the Democrat Kenneth Batiste instead. She agreed that in the case of that surprising occurrence, Tom would call me.

Beloved former Mayor Tom Tait breaks it down real quick - let your voice be heard against this Angels Stadium Heist! https://youtu.be/zCW__WlJS2k STOP THE SALE: https://www.facebook.com/anahomepride RECALL MAYOR SIDHU: https://www.facebook.com/RecallSidhu2020 And CHANGE THIS CROOKED COUNCIL if you live in district 4 or 5!

Recall Sidhu 2020 17.08.2020

Our friends at https://www.facebook.com/anahomepride made this, and it's good, but the facts are even worse - Sidhu and his loyal majority won't even let Council meetings be broadcast on Zoom so that the public can comment and view their representatives. Hell no. Harry Sidhu thrives in the dark like a poison mushroom.

IMPORTANT - if you oppose this Angels Stadium swindle, join this PAGE! https://www.facebook.com/anahomepride/ THIS EVENING (Thursday), at 5, the city will have a "Virtual Town Hall"where they'll "take your questions," although they tend to throw out questions that make them uncomfortable.. info here http://www.anaheim.net/5207/The-Big-A and right after, what looks like an all-star panel at 6 put on by the Voice of OC: https://voiceofoc.org/.../voice-of-oc-hosting-live-angel....../ I said that the city tends to throw out questions they don't like, but if enough of us ask good questions that might be difficult. Here are a few I'D like to force them to answer in public, we're sure you can come up with your own, but you could ask these too: 1. Is it true that when the Project Labor Agreement is settled and factored in, the price Arte pays for the property could go down even farther, to zero, or even to where WE owe HIM money? 2. How is the Brown Act lawsuit against this deal progressing? 3. What do Disney, Arte, and the Chamber of Commerce have against the proposed Anaheim Performing Arts Center, which Mayor Sidhu and the Council majority PROMISED would be taken into consideration in this deal? 4. It is true, isn't it, that Arte Moreno and his family will be perfectly able to turn around next year and flip this property for four times the price. This is good for Anaheim how? 5. Would we really, REALLY, have gotten an EVEN WORSE deal, if you guys hadn’t negotiated it in secret, refused to publicize the appraisal, and given almost no time for public input? 6. If we’re paying $170 million for low-income housing, does that mean Anaheim will own those units? No? Why not?
