Check it out... Gene mapping of the wondrous cannabis plant has been neglected by genetic research over the years, as compared with other crops, due to illegality and political misunderstandings. With recent legalizations research has started to flourish and we are learning so much more. Cannabis genome mapping will allow us to identify the genes that enhance specific properties, therefore, yielding a product that will have specific medicinal benefits. The possibilities are endless for curing seizures, depression, kidney disease, liver disease, Parkinson’s, cancer, etc. Pure Cannalyst is excited about integrating this into our work!!

For those of you who don’t know, Pure Cannalyst Labs is a cannabis testing laboratory with our first open location being in Irvine, CA. What we do at Pure Cannalyst is all of the analytical testing required by the state of California for cultivators to legally sell their cannabis in dispensaries. Every product goes through a series of tests to confirm that the product is not contaminated with pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins (mold), vitamin e acetate, etc. The goal is to... make sure every product is safe for human consumption. We also do testing such as potency analysis and terpene profiling which to help to better classify the product for its medicinal benefits, favors and side effects. Once the testing is completed, the compliant products are given our COA, Certificate of Analysis, which means they are safe for consumption. Everyone should be sure to always check your cannabis products, this includes CBD products, for a COA. Every manufacturer should have this on their products for 2 reasons; they want to be sure their products are safe for their customers and they want to prove that their product is what they say it is. ALWAYS check your products for this seal. If it doesn’t have one, chances are the manufacturer is NOT reputable and you should not trust this product. The COA is typically a QR code that you can scan with your phone which will bring up a website you can read your products exact test results. Pretty cool, right?! See more

Did you know? The CDC has identified vitamin E acetate as the main culprit in the recent outbreak of lung illnesses among vape users. Vitamin E acetate is used as an additive in e-cigs and a thickener in some THC products. Most of the vitamin E traces were found in cartridges of black market or counterfeit THC products however some victims were nicotine only users. More research is still needed on the topic, and it’s not 100% certain Vit E is the only chemical to cause this nasty injury. We only have one body, let’s protect it! At Pure Cannalyst Labs you won’t have to worry... we test for vitamin E acetate!

Did You Know? The endocannabinoid system is a biological system of naturally produced chemical compounds in the brain and peripheral nervous system that play a role in cognition, emotions, fertility, motor control, behavior, etc. Stress can lead to a decrease in endocannabinoid production, a major side effect being... DEPRESSION. Cannabis, which has a very similar chemical make up as our endocannabinoids, can help restore this suppressed system back to normal levels.
