Leading up to #EarthDay 2021, @CaliforniaVolunteers is looking to partner with agencies and community groups that have climate-related volunteer needs. California Climate Action Corps wants to help you recruit volunteers. They built a statewide online volunteer hub via VolunteerMatch to connect organizations working on climate-related projects with individuals who are ready to take action. To build interest and mobilize engagement, they will call on all Californians to serve. Sign up today for a FREE account at https://climateactioncorps.volunteermatch.org/ and tag your events with #climateactioncorps.
The cost of staying overnight at the CA coast is keeping people from the beach. Help expand the supply of lower cost overnight accommodation with our Explore the Coast Overnight grants - we're soliciting pre-apps between now and April 30! https://scc.ca.gov/projects/etco/
We fund beach wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment on an ongoing basis. Get in touch if your beach needs better access for all! https://healthebay.org/beach-wheelchairs-santa-monica-pier/

The last year has shown how important parks and open space are to our physical and mental health. In Crescent City, the 35 acre Beachfront park is moving closer to renovation, with amenities that meet communities' needs. https://wildrivers.lostcoastoutpost.com//crescent-city-ge/
Look at that flow! The wet weather means the new channels at Chorro Creek Ecological Reserve are being put to work! This project with Morro Bay National Estuary Program restored and enhanced floodplain connectivity and riparian vegetation, and reduced sediment loading to the Morro Bay estuary.
Want to share your love of the California coast and beaches with others? Have experience with crafting grant programs, environmental education and outdoor recreation, community engagement, environmental equity, or nonprofit management? Don’t miss your chance to join our Explore the Coast Advisory Board! The Advisory Board works with Conservancy staff to guide and provide input on our Explore the Coast grant program, which seeks to provide coastal experiences for people and c...ommunities who face challenges to accessing or enjoying the coast. Over the past seven years, our grant program has distributed over $6.4 million through nearly 218 ETC grants throughout California to connect more people to state’s spectacular coast! https://scc.ca.gov//call-for-applications-to-serve-on-the/
CA is stepping up to protect those left out of the federal relief. In the #CABudget, @CAGovernor's Golden State Stimulus will reach low-income Californians, including undocumented households that file taxes with #ITINs, like parents with U.S. citizen children. #CaliforniaForAll
Thanks to voluntary tax contributions, Californians are helping Monterey Bay Aquarium's sea otter recovery program, which, among other things, uses surrogate otter moms to teach orphaned pups survival skills so they can be released back into the wild. Thank you, California! https://www.montereybayaquarium.org//new-support-for-our-s
#LivingShorelines create coastal protection and habitat for native species. They improve local water quality and support healthy wetlands. That's why we're so excited for this pilot project in #SanDiego Bay! http://www.sdnews.com//article-Port-of-San-Diego-and-Calif
It's not Santa's sled... Friends of the Dunes and California Department of Fish and Wildlife filled this sled with trash and refuse at Samoa Dunes, leaving behind pristine coastal dunes.
In Oakland, like in many cities, school playgrounds are often just asphalt, which gets too hot for play. Thanks to The Trust for Public Land's Living Schoolyards program, the playground at Cesar Chavez Education Center has been transformed with trees, plants and shaded areas to support the health, curiosity, and happiness of students. Ready for students to enjoy just as soon as they can return to school!
This new multi-use Rail Trail segment in Santa Cruz connects Natural Bridges State Park with Bay/California streets, giving people a safe, fun way to get across town!
