Currently, the diagnosis of pediatric primary intracranial hypertension (PIH) is made based largely on recommendations formulated for adult populations. The most prominent diagnostic feature is measurement of opening pressure, which is considered somewhat controversial, as normal cerebrospinal (CSF) opening pressure for young children is significantly different from that of adults...

While many birth control methods carry a small risk of adverse effects, Tanai Smith, a 25-year-old student and mother from Baltimore, Maryland, explains how an IUD complication that plagues roughly 1 in 1,000 users led to the loss of her ovaries, uterus, and toes.
TWO years ago Koraly Dimitriadis went to hospital unable to talk or walk. The doctors were stumped until they considered a simple cause that could affect a million Aussies.
We are posting this page with information about how to get diagnosed with pseudotumor cerberi again for the women and loved ones who have suffered all the side effects associated with pseudotumor cerebri/intracranial hypertension, but were unaware of the connection or even the condition itself. https://www.consumersafetywatch.com/pseudotumor-cerebri-di/
Bayer Pharmaceuticals recently announced it will no longer sell the controversial birth control implant, Essure. The news was a victory for El Paso gynecologist, Dr. Julio Novoa. "I have to be honest, I did like a little dance. I was very, very happy," said Novoa, an outspoken critic of the device. Novoa was even interviewed for the new Netflix documentary "The Bleeding Edge." Essure, a medical device that hit the market in 2002, is one of the topics discussed in the documentary.
Through interviews with doctors and journalists, The Bleeding Edge shows how the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t hold medical devices to the same standards of safety and effectiveness as it does prescription drugs, even though some devices will presumably remain in the body for the rest of people’s lives. A device can get approved without any human trials if it’s substantially equivalent to a device that’s already approved; this is what’s known as the 510(K) pathway.
Much of the new Netflix documentary, The Bleeding Edge focuses on the Essure permanent birth control device, by Bayer, the same company that makes the Mirena IUD and newer IUD Kyleena. It is very informative about the short comings of the medical device industry and the so-called approval process for these devices.
The IUD or Intrauterine device with levonorgestrel sold under the brand name Mirena IUD has been linked to Pseudotumor Cerebri, Intracranial Hypertension, Papilledema and other complications connected to debilitating headaches/migraines, vision loss, ringing and whooshing and more. Compensation claims are being filed for women who used the Mirena and were diagnosed with PTC/IIH. Click the photo below to sign up now or call 866-391-4464 (866-796-1891 Español). There is no cost to sign up.
Compensation claims are being filed for women that had the Mirena IUD and were diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri, intracranial hypertension or Papilledema while using or after using the Mirena IUD birth control device. Click on the photo below and complete the form to qualify now.
Implanon is a small birth control device that gets implanted in the arm but can get permanently lost in the body. Studies are currently underway regarding Implanon migration issues and the birth control device becoming permanently lost in the body even unable to be located by imaging devices such as ultrasounds, MRIs and X-Rays. This can be particularly problematic since if it is not removed, the birth control implant can lead to permanent infertility, result in ectopic pregnancies, or lead to other serious complications.
