Today we remember and honor the military personnel who have passed away while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
This is our Project Linus Class President, Harrison Little (right), and his sister, Priscilla Little (Left). With the school year coming to an end we would like to recognize this amazing pair of siblings! Harrison helps run everything behind the scenes, manages, and creates fun activities for our class. Both siblings were also a fundamental part of making our Covid Safe Drop-Off Make a Blanket Day the success it was!
Today 400 blankets were donated! Thank you so much to everyone who helped with this mabd! We greatly appreciate all of you!
Another successful mabd! Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped in any way! We greatly appreciate it! Another thank you to our sponsor Logix! https://www.facebook.com/LogixSmarterBanking/
Today is our Drop-off MABD! We can not wait to see you there! A reminder to fill out the form before you arrive for speedier service! Additionally, no one is to leave cars. Blanketeers in the vehicle will tell the PL representative their name and then they will open their trunk or unlock the back seat door and allow the PL representative to grab the bag of blankets so we can verify the projected amount on the form. We will email the verified hours form with a digital sig...nature within a couple of hours of the drop-off (in most cases immediately). ~ Registration Form: https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSfHdQL8pvj77htVP/viewform See more

Happy Martin Luther King Jr day from Project Linus!
We are so excited to report that we won our grant from Donors Choose! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen! Our machines have been ordered and are on the way! We also want to thank LOGIX for their added donation of $2,000 to help us continue to purchase machines to get every student a machine by the start of the fall semester! If you wanted to help us out and didn't get a chance, we are still a few machines shy, which are available on our amazon wish list along with other supplies we need to go along with those machines. Thank you to everyone for helping us out sew much!!! We are starting up more deliveries this week! https://www.amazon.com//OMO80HHN/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2
Thank you to Laura Ferguson for all of your beautiful blankets you have generously made and donated over the years along with all the fleece and yarn you have gifted us! We are so grateful to have you on our team!
Happy New Years from Project Linus!
Our Donors Choose Campaign is going so well that we have more AMAZING NEWS! If we meet our goal on Donors Choose, Logix will donate $2,000 to SCV Project Linus! What does that mean? We’ll hit our goal, and get the number of sewing machines we need. The extra dollars from the credit union will get us a machine for EVERY one of our students! This opportunity will help our next generation of leaders who believe in volunteerism! Please help us by donating - we only need $1,713 more to get every student a sewing machine this semester! We appreciate your generosity! #logixfederalcreditunion #scvprojectlinus https://www.donorschoose.org//mending-hearts-stu/5317997/
Happy Kwanzaa from Project Linus!
Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Today we celebrate and honor Native American culture and history.
We are sorry to inform our chapter members and community that unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, our current Fall 2020 Make a Blanket Day event has been cancelled. Please stay tuned for the possibility of a spring event. Thank you for understanding ~ If you would still want to make a blanket, Joann's in Santa Clarita is still taking blanket drop-offs!
September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day Americans across the country are called to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom. ~ ~ Just a reminder that Joann's is still taking blanket drop offs, if you want to make blankets! ~... Also make sure to check out our Amazon Wish List if you interested in purchasing items from the list and donating them!! ~ https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/OMO80HHNCPNQ See more
Thank you to the Santa Clarita Valley Chapter of National Association of Social Workers for this incredible honor: Public Citizen of the Year! It is the because of the love and generosity of everyone that participates in Project Linus not only in our chapter, but also to everyone who helped bring comfort to the students in our valley last November. Thank you all for making my dream of bringing this beautiful organization to our valley a reality.
Thank you to #LogixFCU for your continued support of our chapter as my summer support staff helps prep no-touch craft kits for next semester's Nonprofit Ventures class! We are prepping for whatever school adventures await!
Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!
This was shared by our national Vice President, Mary Balagna, and a chapter coordinator herself! A special PL story: My hubby is an ER physician and during the COVID-19 pandemic, those who currently enter the ER go through a pretty rigorous registration process. In addition, children are only allowed to have 1 parent with them. The other day a little girl was brought in with a pretty serious laceration that required stitches. She was more than upset and they were having t...rouble calming her down. The nurse brought in a couple of blankets and asked her to choose her favorite. My husband said it was almost as if she had been given a sedative. She totally calmed down as she wrapped the blanket around her. They were able to stitch her up without any problems and he said it was so cute - she walked out of the ER with her blanket over her head! She went home very, very happy (as did her dad)! We just have no idea how much our blankets do for the children we serve until we see or hear about it first hand. See more

People often ask how they can contribute to our chapter when they don't craft or sew. Project Linus SCV is always in need of supplies for our behind the scenes production. For anyone who is interested in purchasing any of the following items off of our amazon wish list for our classroom and student staff, we would be very grateful AND you can ship it directly to us! Thank you so much for looking! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/OMO80HHNCPNQ
Project Linus SCV has been working hard on tagging blankets (even at student desks), winding and filling bobbins, cutting and designing new quilts, bagging washed blankets, and crocheting new blankets for children in need. We do have a wish list for much needed sewing and cutting supplies coming soon if you would like to help support our team in other ways. #projectlinusscv
