Powrachute Pegasus jet powered.
on July 18, I went on a amazing flight with this instructor. Normally this wouldn’t be too interesting, after all he is very good and has been doing this for ...years. The interesting part is that I am blind and this is my perspective. When this flight started the first thing I noticed is how different the position is. You are basically sitting astride a machine. I was able to easily fit and strap myself in with the harness. It is very secure and easy to use. My helmet though was another story, we had to try another one because the first one didn’t fit. After we got all that set up the flight started in earnest. The sound you imagine from an old airplane, one of those propeller driven machines. That’s exactly what you get with this. It is just behind you and makes for an amazing experience. There are different currents of air up there and I noticed them all. They smell different, they feel different, it is basically like going from one part of the swimming pool to another. The movement is very slow and well-controlled. This aircraft does not bump around horribly or increase in speed too quickly. My flight lasted about 25 minutes, we went all the way up to 800 feet. I chose to ride along and not control anything this being my first experience. It is almost impossible to describe the feeling of being in the air for the first time ever. I thought it would be scarier! It feels like being supported by a constantly moving cushion. If anyone is considering a flight here, make it happen. It is a great learning experience and very safe. Thank you for allowing me to well, have fun up there. See more
Here's another video of Randy taking off and doing a touch & go before heading out to Silverwood lake on June 15th, last Monday. With the 360 camera, you can se...e and review every angle of the take off, wing kite up and touch & go, looking at how the wing reacts as it kites & centers, and the footwork while taking off. You can also see the flare used on the touch & go. Very cool. See more
Here's a video one of my former students shot last Monday, June 15th, with his youngest daughter on board for the flight. They flew out to Silverwood lake & bac...k, in his Powrachute Pegasus equipped with Apco Cruiser 550 wing. This was his 1st shoot with his new 360 camera. Looked really good. See more
Today I was out for a photo shoot, with Dan Harley on the camera's, as well as a couple of go pros mounted on the aircraft. It was great air today, smooth as glass and lots of fun for me flying.

Apco is starting a custom color cut in the next few days, so if your thinking about a new wing for this year, and want a custom wing, now is the time to act. Ba...sic price of an Apco Cruiser is $3489.00, custom up charge is $185.00. It could be more, depending on what more than custom yo may want, like lettering etc. The breeze is now a custom, with the additional charge. Contact me to get the ball rolling, or the Cruiser flying. Most stock colors in stock here, call me to verify. 760-242-3359 See more
Here's Wolfgang with DPE Phil Dietro upon receiving his temporary Airman certificate after successfully passing the last part of the practical test, the flight test. Due to weather issues, we did the oral about a week prior to the flight test.
This is Wolfgang Lettow's 1st SOLO touch & go during his 1st SOLO. He was very happy when he landed after over an hour of solo flight.
CONGRATULATIONS to Wolfgang Letttow!!!! On the Sunday before Thanksgiving, (11/24/19) another journey from a beginning student to a polished Sport Pilot for powered parachutes was completed when Wolfgang Lettow completed the flight portion of his practical test, and passed, earning his Sport Pilot license for PPCL. Here's some pictures of him flying SOLO in my Airwolf, and some video as well. One picture shows the dust as vortices as Wolfgang is taking off away from me on a touch & go. The last picture shows as we were getting ready, the moon just above the Airwolf, in descent.
Yesterday I was able to finish the practical test for Colin McAllister, and after he passed the flight check ride, issue him his temporary airman certificate. Welcome our newest sport pilot. He did the flight test and did well, earning his sport pilot PPCL pilot certificate, pictured here with his temporary airman certificate. I know he can't wait to take his friends up flying in his Powrachute Airwolf, powered with the Honda/Viking 130HP fuel injected engine. Congratulations Colin. Well done.
Happy Birthday to Chris.
