Even though World Heart Day has passed this week, don't forget to stay heart smart all year!
It's World Heart Day!
This week our Poison Control Education focuses on Carbon Monoxide, watch this quick video to learn more. https://youtu.be/eoJTQH9gveM
As the world struggles to fight COVID-19, we’ve never been more aware of the importance of our and our loved one’s health. According to the World Heart Federation, "Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the world’s number one killer, resulting in 18.6 million deaths a year. It has many causes: from smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity, to air pollution, and less common conditions such as Chagas disease and cardiac amyloidosis." Tomorrow is a day set aside to help spread life saving knowledge. Use your influence to help build awareness.
This is a quick read from HSI with some good information. If you are looking for a CPR course, let us know!
World Heart Day is coming up this week! September 29th is the day set aside each year to share knowledge about CVD.

As we continue with National Preparedness Month, keep in mind businesses should have a plan too. Check out ready.gov for emergency preparedness checklists and if you need a CPR/First Aid course contact our office. The actions taken in the initial minutes of an emergency are critical. A prompt warning to employees to evacuate, shelter or lockdown can save lives. A call for help to public emergency services that provides full and accurate information will help the dispatcher send the right responders and equipment. An employee trained to administer first aid or perform CPR can be lifesaving. Action by employees with knowledge of building and process systems can help control a leak and minimize damage to the facility and the environment. Ready.gov
