On Oct. 19, Head of School John Bracker and Dr. Camille Rich will host an interactive discussion about revisiting classic books through a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens. Occasionally, classic children books may have content and messages about race, religion, culture, gender equality, identity, and other topics that may be troubling or antiquated when viewed through a DEI lens today. This session provides parents and families with the tools to: talk about potentia...lly difficult issues raised in books, teach children to identify and interrupt discriminatory messages when they encounter them, and help families grow closer by showing that family is a supportive and open space where children can deepen their understanding about the world around them. We invite the Poly community to sign-up for this event in MyPoly! https://www.polytechnic.org/news-detail?pk=1227440 See more

The Paw Print is proud to present our September 2020 issue. Our staff has worked tirelessly to create a publication that justly reports on the events currently shaping our school and our world. We hope that you will take the time to read it. Please remember that The Paw Print is a student newspaper and may hold or express views independent of the school. All of our issues from the past year and previous years can also be found here on the Poly website. Look out in the future for a separate The Paw Print website created by our new Digital Team.

Reflecting upon what we have recently learned by listening and examining concerns surfaced on Dear_Poly and other social media posts, Poly is introducing anti-racist parent education sessions. One of our primary goals is to ensure that our children and families of color equally feel that their experiences are central to the Poly experience. To learn more, please watch this video from session facilitator Dr. Camille Gear Rich and Head of School John Bracker. Current parents can find more information in the email sent on Aug. 1. https://youtu.be/AKq3zeIR4sI
