The world can always benefit from a little more kindness, and at The Goddard School, we know that teaching children about being kind to others from the very start is the best way to make a big difference in our world. In honor of World Kindness Day on November 13, we’d like to share some stories about how Goddard Schools across the country have brought joy to their communities in all sorts of special ways. From fundraisers and food drives to gardens and gallops, check out how Goddard Schools give back each year! reptn.co/EbosAxdABAz

Please help us congratulate, Ms. Caroline, as she is our "Teacher of the Month" for November. Ms. Caroline has been with Goddard since July 2018. She is a very passionate teacher and has had many of the children in our preschool and Pre-K classes as her students over the last two and a half years. She is always first to jump in whenever and wherever help is needed. She is well-known around the school for her creative classroom activities and her loving nature towards the chi...ldren. She always takes an active role with all of our families. In case you didn't know, she just got married, too! During the 2020 school year, she has moved up to our Zazzy Zebras classroom to become a very solid team with Ms. Michelle. They have taken on the task of ensuring our Pre-K students are ready for Kindergarten. Please help us congratulate her as she has proven over and over again that she has earned the title of, "Teacher of the Month!" Thank you very much, Ms. Caroline, for being an integral part of the Goddard Team! See more

It's Pumpkin Painting Day in our 2's classroom today! Painting allows children to express themselves, identify colors, and practice mobility skills. Teachers encourage and assist children in strong gripping skills, which will translate into strong handwriting skills when they reach Preschool and Pre-K.

From birth, children use their five senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. Teachers in our pre-toddler classroom encourage learning through touch and feel with opportunities for sensory play every day, like this pumpkin activity!

Do you love chess as much as we do? Our Preschool and Pre-K classes use the Chess at 3 and Storytime Chess curriculum to introduce and develop the knowledge and love for the game.

Need some family STEAM ideas as you bring home your pumpkins from the pumpkin patch? This week is Pumpkin Science Week in our Distance Learning Pre-K Classroom! From making observations to studying chemical reactions, we can learn AND have fun at the same time. Follow this lesson plan and you can bring STEAM learning to your living room.

A pillar of the Pre-K curriculum is ensuring that children can write and identify uppercase and lowercase letters. With a play-based approach, here's one way we're ensuring our children are having fun while learning their letters. All it takes is some pumpkin playdoh, a few pumpkin letter mats, and a bunch of pumpkin creativity.

Who knew Pumpkins could be a part of STEAM?! This week our Peppy Pandas observed and identified different sizes and shapes of pumpkins and gourds, measured the width and length of each, and discovered the pumpkin life cycle from seed to stem.

You’re never too young to be an artist! Today our littlest learners discovered sponge painting during a Fall-inspired art exploration. Teachers focused on textures and fall colors like red and yellow. We also discovered what happens when we mix two primary colors together: we get a brand new color! Yellow + Red = Orange!

We are in full swing for Fall here at the Goddard School! We have been very busy measuring pumpkins, drawing pumpkins, examining the leaves that have fallen from the trees, or making our own pumpkin patch! The children are busy at work learning all things Fall!

The Goddard School 27.07.2020

Our PreK students have been discussing Fall and its colors. They decided they wanted to make play dough and a design with fall colors! Each child described what they made and the teacher displayed it in the classroom. Now they are going to wait to see what happens to the play dough and their designs over the next couple of days. Stayed tuned to find out what happens to the playdough designs in the Zazzy Zebras classroom! Will they change colors or will they dry out? We will have watch and see!

Please help us congratulate Ms. Aileen, our teacher of the month! Ms. Aileen has been with the Goddard School for over 3 years now. She began as an assistant in the classroom and easily transitioned into a lead role very shortly thereafter. She is currently the lead teacher in the Cuddly Cubs' Classroom. Ms. Aileen has a genuine passion for her classroom and her students. If you hear her talking about the children in her classroom, it would sound like they were all her own. S...he is a very dedicated educator and leader and is always amazing us at what projects and explorations she is doing with pre-toddlers. The activities and circle times in the classroom are always challenging the children and keeping them engaged. We are so proud to announce that she is the teacher of the month. She has definitely earned the title. We would like to thank her from the bottom of our hearts for making the program great! And of course, thank her for hard work and dedication to the classroom! We are truly lucky to have her here at our school. Thank you, Ms. Aileen! See more

During a trip to the grocery store with your child, discuss different fruits and vegetables, their colors, their smells and their textures. Encourage your child to take a chance with you and try something new!
