June 19th is celebrated as Juneteenth (also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day), and commemorates the June 19, 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX were freed. We our seniors! Reflecting on her time as a history major, Christine Abrell said, One of my favorite experiences in this department was going to the Conference on Faith and History with fellow ‘scholars’ and professors! I really got a sense on that trip for how our faith informs the ways we work as historians in a variety of fields. Seniors! Send us a senior pic & we’ll post it!
