We are so excited to be hosting a Black History Month Merfolk Panel with these awesome mers! This is part of our ongoing Merfolk Representation Panel series, wh...ich as been championed and spearheaded by Merman Jax <3 Keep your eyes peeled for an Asian Pacific Heritage Panel in May and a Pride Panel in June <3 This panel is in celebration of Black History Month, and how it pertains to Black merfolk in the community. Panelists will discuss their experiences, triumphs, struggles and stories. Learn about the history of segregation in swimming pools, and bodies of water, and of Black Mermaids around the world in legend, religion and tradition. We are so lucky to feature panel moderator Merman Maui, Caribbean Pearl, Mermaid Farasha, Mermaid Chè Monique, Merman Tempest and Najestic Entertainment! Our tickets for this panel range from $1 - $10 and ALL proceeds will benefit Sisters of Nia, Inc. The Sisters of Nia is a Sacramento based organization dedicated to serving adolescent girls in grades six, seven, and eight living in urban communities. Through the teaching of Africentric values, our program aims to reinforce and bring out the natural strengths of girls, while encouraging them to live their live with a purpose.
